I don't know about you guys, but I usually like to make my reservations as soon as possible, because last minute reservations usually cost a whole lot more for both hotel and flights. bm

Unfortunately, no. The only committments we have is "end of August" or something to that effect. I'm keeping open the last week of August and the first week of September "open" for the meet.

I'll be in SF late August. But I have to check all my appointments to see when I'll have free time. I'll let you know shortly...

I have to say, with regret, that the McTags will not be there this year. Crying or Very sad

McT, Really sorry to hear you and Fiona are not coming out to visit with us, but will expect you folks to plan a trip out here sometime in the not distant future.

Yes, that has had to be deferred, for reasons too complicated for mention here.

But, as Arnie said.......

That'd be fun. It's only $350 from Vancouver to San Fran at that time... what are the plans IN SF?

Hi Mame, I'm sorry to report we still don't have dates tied down in late August. Francis said he has to look at his schedule to fit in a trip to San Francisco (from Paris), and the others have been silent since they siad they're planning to come. I haven't a clue at this time, but please continue to follow this thread. That's all I'm able to do.

If you do come, we'll have georgeob, Cyclo, and I to participate in some gathering activities. If you like, I can take up up to Napa-Sonoma, Muir woods, and the Jelly Belly Candy Factory for some outings outside of SF on one of the weekends.

I'll keep watching this thread, then... but you don't need to take me sight-seeing... I'm more interested in people, food, and just exploring on foot. But thank you for the kind offer.

Seaglass and I are currently researching airline fares and I'm browsing hotel deals. Tentative arrival date would be 8/18 or 8/19. Departure sometime before the Labor Day weekend rush.

Hmmm. It would sure be fun... though August will be busy for me. We'll see how it goes, maybe I'll find some last minute deal if I spontanneously decide to come. Not very likely, but remotely possible

Come on, dagmaraka, it'll be fun! Promise. I've been to eight of em, and they've all been more than you will ever anticipate - with many good surprises.

I checked the current air fares from here to there. Still not bad: $415. (I used something like 8/17 -8/21). But departure times and total flight duration times are starting to go negative.

rjb, That's not good enough of a reason not to come; you gain hours coming west, so even your five hour plus flight will seem like two. LOL
