7 to, at worst, 10. Cville is off the beaten path. So layovers, lengthy lay overs in Atlanta (my least favorite airport), or Charlotte NC, or Cincy (my favorite) are inevitable.
I hear you, but keep trying.
looks about the same for me. $389 cheapest flight, one stop there, on stops on the way back... I'll have to wait though until the time is here and then see what sort of last minute deal I can snatch.
I have to play it by ear, but from my end there is every 30 min a flight
going up to SFO. If needed, I can fly up in the morning and back at night.
I can't commit though, not yet at least.
Things seem to begin moving now! I've already met Cyclo, rjb, and Francis, but I'm looking forward to meeting all of you!
Calamity Jane, Just a thought; maybe you can roommie with somebody for one night if you're restricted to only the weekend.
cicerone, if I can make some time available, I'll stay the entire weekend (with entourage), if I don't have the time, I would come for the day only,
but as I said, I have to play it by ear.
In 2004, as I mentioned before, I got a great hotel and air flight package; that kind of thing might work for some.
News, people!
I will have my entire Sunday, August 26th, free.
Who am I gonna meet in SF?
Francis, I'll be there, and will try to get georgeob and Cyclo to join us.
We'll talke about venues and times about a week before your arrival.
Count me in - I'll be free that day.
Cheers
Cycloptichorn
We are already three! Nice!
Now, CI, you can change your sig line..
I will, I will.....with pleasure!

not off the path when you're trying to get from Toronto to SF. One of the options took me to Cville first - then to SF
(next year is still my likeliest option, but I thought I'd look into it anyway, in case any good deals pop up)
Sunday the 26th of August? Hm, the wedding I attend is on the 25th,
so depending on how long the wedding lasts and how wild it gets, I will
decide accordingly.
I may be going back out to the hinterland to cook; won't know for a couple of days, so this may not be a possibility for me. Will let you know when something definite has been arranged.
May I friendly suggest, CJ, that you don't let the wedding go wild?
Well, it looks like it's gonna be a fun gathering. My ex is passing through Boston on 28th, so anything I can do to be out of town will be good... I'll keep an eye out for cheap tickets.
Remember, George, I'm very urban, so, no hypocrisy between friends...
