I'm undaunted by hypocrisy. In advancing a point, there is no level to which I will not stoop. Cyclo can attest to that.

Francis: Remember, George, I'm very urban, so, no hypocrisy between friends...

I may not be that "urban," but I'm with Francis on the "no hypocrisy between friends" precept.

Well, it looks like it's gonna be a fun gathering. My ex is passing through Boston on 28th, so anything I can do to be out of town will be good... I'll keep an eye out for cheap tickets.

Have you checked jetblue.com, dag?

I found a ticket for a little over $200... but from Providence to San Jose... which would be a major hassle. I'll sign up for all sorts of alerts though.

Though I've never met Cicerone, I consider him a friend. It may surprise him to learn that it is the odd combination of an occasionally short temper, crankiness & irritability about things he doesn't like; interest in things about him and around the world; together with what appears to be a rather warm-hearted nature that I find attractive.

In short Cicerone, it is the ironies that surround you and your innate hypocrisy that are probably your best qualities.

Hey, Dag, at least, you have a reason to come.

You'll be very welcome...

"...foot the bill..." can have so many different meanings.

Any more "planning to attend?" Still looking for fares or fares and accommodations?

Just talked to Seaglass in Hawaii. As I type, she is booking her flight to SFO. ETA: sometime on Aug. 19th. As soon as I know the exact times, I'll book my flight from Boston so we can meet at the airport. I'm still scouting hotels for best rates. Will almost certainly rent a car this trip, which will make getting around a little easier. Last time around I relied on BART and the local buses and streetcars and cable cars, which was a lot of fun but somewhat slow going.

So you can expect Seaglass and Merry Andrew for sure, c.i. Looking forward to a few days in the city by the Bay.

Merry Andrew, Great! Looking forward to meeting you and Seaglass. Let us know how many days you'll be staying in the city, and your hotel when you make your reservations. You can send me a PM with the "private" info. <smiles>

FYI, parking in San Francisco is very expensive; you probably already know that, but I thought I'd mention it.

At some point, we should ask the question: what would we all like to do during our meetup?

I vote for a combination of mind-altering drugs maybe some light jazz music.

Beer is a mind-altering drug. We'll just ask them to keep the jazz down.

We still need to tie down a venue and time. Any suggestions would certainly get the ball rolling in the right direction. See PMs.
