406a. I think something wonderful got into Punky the dog. She's acting like she did five or six years younger.
407a. I think the house across the street is about to get a renovation. Men have been cleaning in and around it, after somebody cut out several trees. And a man wearing a carpenter's tool belt is ripping stuff from the end of it. It looks horrible, but any house (almost) can be made sound with dollar investment and caring work. The yard already looks great.
408a. I think it's fine to offer a few hints and comments to aspiring writers, but I don't offer much, because they ought to seek their own voice, for good or ill.
409a. I think Bob Dylan's new effort, an album of Hank Williams' unrecorded lyrics, performed by established artists other than just himself, ought to be worth hearing, at least a time or two.
410. I think Terra Nova, Monday on Fox, may change my viewing habits. I hope the product is worth the anticipation.

411a. I think the review I read this morning, of the looming debut (pronounced dee-but) of Terra Nova, makes it seem less than anticipation-worthy. Will see, Monday.
412a. I think HALLELUJAH! because I have located the lost pages of my book. They were under the printer paper, in the bottom of a file cabinet. What lunkhead thought to hide them under there? I could kick - strangle - Well, never mind. All's well that ends well. Hey, I could use that in the text. No - Overly cliche-ed.
413a. I think about vinegaroons and recall Judge Roy Bean's place was called Vinegaroon, wasn't it?
414a. I think some a2k people have been pretty silent on the board, of late. Perhaps I overindulged the ignore feature.
415a. I think farmerman is missed around here. Hope his boat runs aground, so that he can get back here a little more quickly.

Cope, Ed. Cope.
This is what the motto of The Order Of The Garter refers to.

416a. I think same old same old, re weather and work.
417a. I think with affection of the persons I have connected with on line. A2K is a treasure trove of good souls.
418a. I think it would be neat to begin a book with the second half of a sentence and contrive to end the book with the first half of the same sentence. I know, it has been done, but, still -
419a. I think of diane quite often. Hope she is doing well.
420a. I think my favorite football teams are in trouble.

421a. I think today will be an oddity. At lunch, they will take me to lunch at Goodson's, the best family restaurant in Tomball, for my Sept 17 birthday. First, I get to do some odd little jobs that would be of interest to no one but me.
422a. I think endymion's return to posting is greatly appreciated.
423a. I think the premier of Terra Nova sets us up for what could be a good series, if they don't get bogged down by inanities.
424a. I think the Lion King is a film I likely will not see. A few clips I watched of it belies the hype.
425a. I think the heat and the drought will linger a while longer. It's staggering, the millions of trees already lost to it.

426a. I think Abednigo was a follower.
427a. I think Punky the dog is something of a mystery. Yesterday, she decided to chase a squirrel she sighted running in the yard. But, as she hit full stride, she stopped suddenly and came back to the house. It was as though the squirrel ceased to exist.
428a. I think I have enough on my plate today. Replace a washing machine, a microwave (over the counter) and a dishwasher. Then finish wiring in a ceiling for overhead fans. In my spare time I have to fix a sprinkler station not functioning. Then I have a patient coming by my office for a bit of plastic surgery and lipo.
429a. I think "to err may be human," but what about gooney birds and lemmings? Not to mention auks and dodos.
430a. I think I like the new hand. She has begun to relax and show a bit of humor.

@edgarblythe,
428a If I had known you did plastic surgery, I could have used your services when I was 50 years old. It's too late in the game of life to fool the young women...

@edgarblythe,
427a... it's not Punky.

it would seem as though she encountered a Jedi squirrel. they use the mind trick a lot. it causes quite a commotion when they hafta use the light saber. Punky was very lucky...

I was waiting for your review, edgar. Glad you think there's some promise there. I might tune in.

@Roberta,
This one premise of the show, that it is forbidden to tamper with the past to the extent that it alters the future, is of course ridiculous and stupid. Especially if the settlements are successful. If they all lie down and cease to breathe, they have already made changes.

@edgarblythe,
Humans and dinosaurs at the same time is another change. Faulty premise. Won't these people have offspring? More change.

@Roberta,
But I am willing to give it a look, so long as they entertain me. Most shows bore me rather easily, so they only get a few shots.

431a. I think the wiener dogs of attrition are gnawing at my ankles. I have to finish wiring an apartment, dig a pipeline for a new set of sprinklers and be prepared to resume replacing siding for Monday. That's in addition to new work orders that will likely come in. And I only have four scheduled hours for work the rest of the week.
432a. I think the fall weather is soon to begin around here. Sunday morning will get down to the 50s.
433a. I think my daughter, newly transplanted to Austin, is surprised at how different that land is to Houston/Tomball, to be just a few hours away. Yesterday she posted a picture of a scorpion crawling on the kitchen floor.
434a. I think the animal/bird population must be growing in my back yard. The food and water vanishes at an increasing rate lately. It's hard to get an accurate assessment, because I am away much of the day, plus the little beggars hide when they see me through the window.
435a. I think The Mentalist better be good tonight, just to get off my **** list.

435a. I think The Mentalist got a little silly last night. I'm through with writing about it.
436a. I think I will go in to work this day, despite the fact I have the day off for my birthday. Got a job to get done by Monday.
437a. I think what a spectacular lightning show last evening. First, it got very dark, long before the sunset. The thunder grumbled and growled for a time, before really ripping it. In Houston, several houses were struck by the long bolts and they burned. I hid out until it all subsided. Later, I looked to see if we got any rain. Nope. Not a drop.
438a. The drought seems to have driven away the sparrows. Not a bad thing, you say? One of them was my friend. When first they arrived in the spring, the one that I fed potato bugs to, the season previous, flew down to greet me on the sidewalk. It fluttered its wings, excitedly, chirping at me. But I had no bugs this year. There were none to be had. Eventually, it gave up and began to stay away.
439a. I think I am out of time just now. Got to go have have my breakfast. It consists of a drink from the blender, of whole milk, fresh flax seeds, walnuts, 50 apricot kernels, raisins, a dash of raw honey, blackberries from Central America. Plus a multi vitamin and a few other supplements.

440a. I think we sometimes are more critical of the amateur poet - writer - than we are of the established professional. An example is the way somebody jumped on a poem, here, on a2k, yesterday, and lectured at great length. We who read this particular poetry person are in sync. We enjoy the man. I have not read a single criticism of poems such as

I never saw a purple cow
I hope I never see one
But I can tell you anyhow
I'd rather see than be one

or

Candy is dandy
But liquor is quicker

They are widely quoted, these two poems, but are they that good?
441a. I think I forgot all about Terra Nova yesterday. I guess it was not that much a priority after all.
442a. I think I have enough projects today to keep me going. No list, just a note.
443a. I think I need some Gillette razors this week. Ran out. I used to buy Bic and sometimes very cheap ones, but only Gillette gives me a proper shave.
444a. I think the American born man taken out by drone the past week was no longer an American. He moved away and made war on us; therefore he gave up being one of us.
445a. I think we could make great strides in the fight against cancer, if it became illegal to knowingly sell hazardous food. One example: There is hydrogenated or partially hydrogenated vegetable oil in a huge percentage of what is sold in grocery stores. It is well known that this stuff clogs arteries and helps bring on cancer. But it is apparently legal to use it.
446a. I think I resent the guy in Home Depot Friday. I asked him, "Where are the punkins?" He replied, "The pumpkins are over there."
