@cicerone imposter,
You are right of course. I have been putting a padlock on there more often than I care to.

I have been working in the yard these days. My main tools have been spades and a lawn mower. Most of all an action hoe and an iron rake. Clearing growth away from the house and trees and other plants. Yesterday I took down several growths of poison ivy. I didn't think I was close enough to contract any, so did not take preventive measures. Woke up about three with all fingers swelling and itching like mad. Put undiluted H3O all over both hands. For about ten minutes the itching and pain increased. Then it went away and my hands were back to normal. I still have a long way to go with the project. A lot of neglect preceded this. But the difference is startling already.

I should have known by now to wash my hands with Dawn and then scrub with a cloth, right after working out there.

The poison oak in California seems to jump on my skin from a distance. I missed many a day of school because it made great scabs on my arms, and I never got close to it, as near as I could figure.

@edgarblythe,
gloves can sometimes make it worse if your hands sweat and the oils in the vines are being sublimated and spread about during a hot day.

@farmerman,
I have several pairs of gloves. All put away and likely only used one time. I just can't work with them, except if handling poison.

The vet told me to get Rocky to lose weight. A month ago, he absolutely was smaller, but when we weighed him his weight was exactly the same as the previous month. Today, he was 4 pounds lighter. So the new diet has kicked in. Now I will weigh him every three or so months, until he levels off.

@edgarblythe,
I think I need to eat whatever he is eating. Happiness is gotten to be fattening.

@Ragman,
I give him Purina weight control dry, half of a thirteen ounce can of Pedigree and small fat free snacks. And a dental stick. If it were me, I would have to mutiny.

@edgarblythe,
I tended to agree with what Rags is saying, re good foods, but that didn't fix my/our love, Katy,

Meantime, you know I like your doggie.

@ossobucotemp,
That dog loves to visit the vet, because the nice ladies are all over him with kind hands and affection. He particularly likes it when they address him as handsome. Then his huge tongue lolls out the side and spoils the image.

Blackberry cobbler for dinner. Watched Steve McQueen, in The Blob. We are due for a 49 degree morning. I can't recall how many days since weather like that. Rocky ran the fence in front a couple dozen times without pause. Hints of autumn in the air.

Rocky killed some things in the yard today. After disposing of them I told him "I hope you don't find a moose back there." I used to think he should be on a farm, but now I am glad he is confined, mostly. He would likely get in some real trouble, elsewhere.

Last night I dreamed of a conflict between myself and a group of men. I have no recall of the dream's beginning, just the part where I stood confronting a half circle of men. Then the focus became myself and the center one. We clashed and I jumped in the bed, waking myself up. As I lay, hoping to get some more sleep, I realized my dream was about a short story I started the other day, involving a group of suspects and the crime of serial killing. The group in the dream was unrecognizable, because I have not established personalities and even the identity of the killer. I don't think I woke my wife.
