Glitterbag' I hope things are working out.
Threads are still hanging up, I see.
Hi Edgar. I'm glad to see you're back, even if it's just for a spell
To quote Fats Waller: One never knows, do one?
Houston's next mayor will be Sylvester Turner. It was a tight race. Turner is a Democrat. I don't feel a lot of love for the guy, but I prefer him over the guy he just beat.
Yesterday on a2k took too much of my writing energy away from my manuscript. I had to stay up late to make my daily total. Which means I have to apportion my time accordingly.
I think:
I better get going with my writing pursuit or a dream might die away before I do. Your discipline is inspirational. Your work ethic is strong.
Another I think:
...that the Houston Texans-Pats game tonight is going to be a barn-burner. how 'bout you?
@Ragman,
I only wish all the players were healthy for that game. Still, it is an anything can happen game.
Write, ragman, even if you think it may be garbage. You never know what you are capable of, until you do something about it. As W C Fields once said "Take me down to the bar. We will drink breakfast together."
@edgarblythe,
Yup: Take me down to the bar; I'll have a shirley temple.
With vodka.
Can't get motivated, today. Been on the computer and in front of the TV most of the day. Not certain if it is the stuff I am taking health wise or a consequence of being retired. I even dozed off when sitting in the sun, as I have taken to doing, daily, when possible. Well, so long as it does not become habitual, I needn't worry, I think. How's that for convoluted writing?
@edgarblythe,
It's fine...
says she at the computer.
I had a fine sit in the sun, today. Good it was early, for the clouds became rather threatening, a few hours later. We are finally getting our fall foliage, none of it spectacular, as in other parts of the country. But, the reds and yellows are a joy to observe, when the light hits them right. The moringa is in full leaf, just as though it were summer, still. I wasted so many of those leaves, this year. I am waiting for the cold weather to lessen the strength of the Poison Ivy, so that I can clean out two areas of the yard. I think by next spring, I will be able to mow down most of the poison ivy, before it can overgrow so much. I have tried over the years to dig up the roots, but there is a crisscrossing of other kinds of roots that makes it impossible to get up the poison ivy. The missing fig tree left roots that continually sprout up and I mow them down. Hopefully, they will give up this coming year. Anyway, I enjoy this par of the year, more even than the spring. Wish it would last longer.
@edgarblythe,

I feel your pain. A2k can be a pleasure or a life sucking sink hole.
Think I've been letting it have more than its share lately.
@Leadfoot,
Willpower ... Got ... to ... be ... strong ...
Cooked me some ribs today. Took all afternoon, cooking them. Had red potatoes and veggies, too. Rocky wanted mine, but I told him, "Absolutely not." So, he ate his dry food, followed with a doggy treat.
I have been weaning myself away from the cookies and candy I had gradually taken to snacking on, in my retirement. That destructive stuff can take over your diet, before you know it.
I have to limit my time on this site. Two days in a row I did not meet my goal of how much to write. A2K sucks up my writing energy. No more.
@edgarblythe,
I don't always get glued to A2K, but every so often a few threads flare up that are hard to ignore. Recently, I was invited to join a Vizsla group and it's great, but, I spend too much time looking at pictures of dogs. I need to tale a leave of absence at least until I finish all the preps for Christmas. Im woefully behind, and losing sleep.
I have a few minutes to kill.
Certain ball games came out to my liking today.
I am doing pretty good on a couple of Facebook games.
I am likely decimating my list of friends by being so insistent with my political views.
I want Bob Dylan's latest bootleg album, but will never be able to afford it.
There are some movies out now that I would love to see.
I watched four episodes of Have Gun Will Travel, today.
Made contact with a friend, today. We may eventually meet in Tomball for a cup of coffee, or something.
My brother in law has been giving me a Collin Street fruitcake, every year, but he changed jobs, so they won't be giving him one to pass along from now on.
My dog looks like the Big Bad Wolf was miniaturized in some Isaac Asimov science fiction disaster. Somehow the aggression of the subject was magnified. She's only cute for a few seconds at a time. And I think her response to realizing that she's ever cute would be to growl.
She's presently trying to pick a fight with my pant leg.
