@cicerone imposter,
Would that I could, CI. It rained nice and easy for about two hours and more is expected tomorrow. I consider California my second home and it hurts me to see what is becoming of it.

Albuquerque had a good rain on Monday and a sprinkle yesterday. Nothing else expected until middle of next week. Enjoy your rain in Texas. May be awhile before we see some more.

I have never seen New Mexico landscapes looking so lush and green. The West Mesa looks like green farmland, not dry sand.

We alternate during most years between drought and too much water. Rain around spring and/or early summer; drought through the rest of summer, unless a hurricane comes to visit, and so on. I was beginning to worry about my trees, until last night.

@edgarblythe,
What's surprising to me is the simple fact that even under this draught conditions, many have green lawns. Our's is brown.

Normally you would have only 3 months when you need to water, and the average temp is only about 70, so not a lot of water is needed if you do it right. Some people are willing to pay for that, I know I would. Shaming runs into a wall when people are paying for what they want, they tend to decide that the whiners dont get to decide what they spend their money on. I believe that you take this same view on your carbon polluting tourism.

@Roberta,
Not sure, but he seemed to be getting unhappy with the people here, I doubt that he had a physical issue

There is a scheduled power outage today between 9 am and 1 pm, it's already hot and humid and the outage means no air conditioning and no fans. Drat, I think I will be miserable until the power comes back on. Oh, and we have well water and septic, so that means we will not have water during that time. Double drat.

No internet either, but I'm only going to miss the air conditioning.

@glitterbag,
Time to consider buying a backup power generator.

@Ragman,
I've been nagging mr. g'bag for years. We do have someone coming out on 18 Sept, but today is the 9th. It's 9:21 and power is still on. Those sneaky bastards are going to keep me on pins and needles.

My husband tolerates the heat better than I do. He finds it inconvenient, I'm whimpering within 15 minutes.

@Ragman,
Maryland has high humidity most days. Today it's expected to hit 91 and humidity level is 77. Seventy seven isn't too bad, but when it gets to 90 or higher thats uncomfortable to me. Maryland can get extremely cold and miserable in the winter and practically tropical during the summer.

Well it's almost 10 and we still have power. I wonder if they changed the plan?

@glitterbag,
I found out yesterday that I won't have to have surgery. I'm very pumped, if I never have to be under anesthesia again I'm a lucky gal.

@ossobuco,
Thanks OB, I'm over the moon. The surgeon is referring me to another GI who specializes in esophageal matters and it possible (fingers crossed) medication might solve the problem. I'm a little sick of meds, but meds are so much more attractive than major surgery.
