@edgarblythe,
Too bad they didn't have a f/t worker that had a solid work ethic, huh? You know, like one that responds to late night calls?

@Ragman,
In fairness to the lead guy, he hurt his ankle and had not been released by the doctor. It was the number two that failed on two levels. He looked at that hot water tank and told the resident it would be replaced next day. But, he did not turn off the water and electric. Which is why the after hours call. Then, he did not pick up the phone.

I have not asked the manager what she is thinking. I am somewhat worried the two guys will leave at the same time. Then, I will be in the middle, until they are replaced. The lead guy was near the point of walking, yesterday.

@edgarblythe,
You should quit at the same time as those other two; they'll then begin to understand your value.

They'll never admit they're wrong, because they've been 'cheating' you all this time, but it'll end up costing them more in the future.

They don't appreciate the value you provide them with; let them learn the hard way.

I never threw away my self-respect for any job.

@cicerone imposter,
When I was attending college, I worked at a machine shop building transformers. The manager wanted me to train a new employee how to build transformers so he could become my supervisor. I walked off the job.

Another time, I had a management meeting at my home, and the other managers complained that I was paid too much. I told all of them to get the fu.... out of my house, and I quit that job. I was doing consulting work, and I didn't need that job to be insulted. My boss didn't even support me at the meeting, but later told me he would never have changed my salary. His silence meant to me he supported what they were saying. I increased that companies assets ten-fold during my job there.

Well, CI, I am near the end of my physical working days and I don't want to change for that short period of time.

I knew they would not take a quarterback. They hired a quarterback some weeks ago.

@edgarblythe,
I'm going to love watching them. Love to see how and what they do with working out the assignments with JJ Watt and him. What a luxury. Hate to be on the other team facing those two.

@Ragman,
Last season, they lost all those games by just a few points each. They have the making of a really good team, you would think.

@edgarblythe,
He did go to Cleveland but it was at the 22nd overall pick. Apparently I just heard on ESPN that this slippage in the draft cost him $12M. How they figure that out I have no idea.

@Ragman,
A measly 12 mil. He can make that up by being as good as his mythology and more.

We were given 60% chance for rain, yesterday, 40% for today. So far, not a drop. My back yard crunches under my feet.

@edgarblythe,
Exactly what I was thinking. If he's all that media has made him out to be, 2-3 yrs he'll be in Top 10 money-earning QBs. Cleveland needs him and he needs them. Fans are love-starved for a sports here and a chance to get a sports team in some playoffs as it's a strong football town. I'll follow them and him.

I predicted, early on, that the Texans would not draft a quarterback. I guess they think a competent quarterback can look sensational, with a more than average team. The new coach has yet to be tested, with the Texans.

Finally got a decent rain shower.

@edgarblythe,
Yes they did, Tom Savage, at 135.

I got interested while perusing the draft at some guy showing up from Canada.. since I was interested in his name.
I still don't know about the name, but his is a good (short) story, and most of why I follow sports is for the stories.

With Savage, they have four quarterbacks. Hopefully, one of them can play.
