@Ragman,
If an A/C loses 15% of its freon in a year, by law, the leak must be repaired.

Actually its in the preparation. As a thickener for gumbo or even dried and used as file (fee lee) powder as a thickener its a good thing. As a dill pickle or hot pickle it can be sublime.

Any other method - its snot.

"I don't want illegal aliens, because they are breaking the law."
"I like Bundy because he is breaking the law."

So which is it?

I got blindsided, at work. Went in, expecting to troubleshoot sprinklers and instead hauled furnishings and furniture downstairs, moving the model to a new apartment. The heaviest stuff, I told them, not getting moved by yours truly. They want me back tomorrow, to get stuff from Home Depot.

I had to fasten my sprinkler at home to a heavy board, to keep Rocky from picking it up. That makes for some awkward maneuvering, shifting it from place to place. We get forecasts of rain chances and I thought we were doing okay, until I realized none actually has fallen here in weeks. Looks like the drought is with us again, already.

Good for you mate, same thing happened to me when I was a volunteer at the PDSA shop, the dotty young manageress sent me out with the van driver lugging heavy furniture around so I told her "I'm outta here, the driver gets paid but I'm just an unpaid volunteer and I'm not going to do my back in or bust a gut for free!"

My boss was rear ended today. She and her assistant were stopping in traffic, in a small Toyota, when a big SUV plowed into the car and ended causing a four car accident. Boss is okay. Assistant needed a little medical attention. The car got totaled.

I spent much of the day driving Tomball Parkway, soon to be relabeled Tomball Tollway, when the new construction is completed. The mess is added to, by building of The Grand Parkway, now underway and cutting across. The truth of it is, none of the new freeways will help a bit. Each time Houston completes a new road project, it immediately fills beyond capacity, making the traffic much worse than before. Making most of them toll roads adds insult to injury.

@edgarblythe,
I've read statistics about that, though not lately and not sure I'm right in my memory, but the memory is : nature abhors a vacuum.

@ossobuco,
Our area was projected to grow by a million people, not many years ago. I'm inclined to believe it. The new pavement only encourages them.

If you wait past early October, you will not find any winter rye grass seeds. I knew this, but I discovered, yesterday, that if you don't act early in spring you will have a hard time finding the squares of lawn grass.

My next project is pure fiction. Much less stressful than the last writing.

I had got in the habit of buying cookies to munch on. But, staying home so much, I gradually munched more and more, until my pot became a barrel. No more sugary snacks are allowed in the house.

My surviving moringa tree has two branches, on on either side of the trunk, growing at a reasonable pace. Last year, it had blossoms at this time. Something ate most of them before I even saw them. Not sure if it was supposed to form seeds. Whatever ate the blossoms made sure it didn't. I plan to protect it better, in this and in future cold weather.

Rocky has begun to lose patience with me, when I am too long at the keyboard. He nudges my wrist each time I try to tap the keys. And barks at me. It is his misfortune that I am old. He does not know that he may not have made it out of the shelter alive, without me.

Languid, these days. But I will get it together.

The Rockets bombed out. But, I was proud of their season.

Rocky is a puzzle, when it comes to feeding. He munches on his dry food from time to time and finishes it up. But, the wet food, he ignores, most days, until a few hours after I feed him. I gave this same canned food to my last three dogs and they nearly knocked the bowl out of my hand to get at it. Not ole Rocky. I ain't got time to eat this. Leave it there and I just may get back to it, later.

@edgarblythe,
FWIW, I have the same thing with my Poodle, Jelly Bean. She banks it for later. However my (former dog) Border Collie, Brady scarfed it down. He was brought up with a competitors for the food. Whereas, JB has and never had another competitor for the food. She says, "I can eat 'steak' later on."

I finally broke Rocky of going after the lawn mower. This morning, he just followed along, good naturedly. "naturedly" Is that a word? mrs edgarblythe put some coloring in her hair. She bent to retrieve something and Rocky licked her hair. I don't think he got enough to hurt himself.

I gonna work today. It's, like, a hobby.

Got into the poison ivy again.

I got Rocky one of those two foot long bones to chew on. The smaller sizes crack too easily, giving him sharp points to deal with.

I tried to get the mice out without poison. They refused to cooperate. I put D-Con in their hole. It took a while to get their remains out of their hiding place. P-U

I gonna replace another underground sprinkler valve today. Last one, I think. I hope the pipes have an ell next to the valve. It's much easier to reconnect everything.

They couldn't find a maintenance man, last night, other than me. Had to go turn off the water and electric to a leaky hot water tank. I quit doing calls a few years back.

It is so much fun to be back writing a work of pure fiction.

I had an extra day of work, this week. Last week, too. The lead maintenance was feeling stressed enough to consider walking away, yesterday. I bet he doesn't last out the year.
