@edgarblythe,
Back when I consumed it...with 2 of us needing wheat grass juice, I recall using 3 cafeteria trays with flats of wheat grass sprouts to keep things happening for us.

@Ragman,
I have three trays and a big bag of seeds. I have been watching youtubes about growing and have concluded the coconut based medium for dirt will suit my needs best. For one thing, less danger of mold.

@edgarblythe,
Absolutely. I recall the flats being coconut husk or some such. You'll get a feel for the appropriate amount of water after a short while. I'll tell you, after a few days, you'll feel in your body a hunger or thirst for the wheatgrass.

The first few weeks will be wasted almost, due to the learning and adjusting processes, but I am excited.

Remember ... don't let the grass grow under your feet.

Not the expensive kind at least. Speaking of growing underfoot, the rain we just had will make me have to mow. Sad

I suppose we will be out looking at cars today. The lots are mostly closed, but if we see something good we can come back tomorrow or when we get our money. There is a Toyota in Conroe that seems promising, on line. I guess that's more pressing than finding my bumper.

@edgarblythe,
Make sure you get a good mechanic to give it a thorough inspection before you plunk down your $$$.

I hardly think ed needs any guidance on such a matter ci. From what he has told us he is a mechanical wizard compared to a silly sod like you.

And he should count out his $$$s in a gentlemanly fashion when he has agreed a deal.

@spendius,
I am far from a motor car expert. I have to rely on a mechanic's expertise. If it looks good and appears to run good, then I will ask permission to have my man check it over. We looked at a number of vehicles today. I would like to look at a Toyota in Conroe, that we saw on line. I expect our money to be in the bank on Tuesday or Wednesday. Direct deposit, from Des Moines, IA.

@edgarblythe,
Is it not possible to provide Mrs ed with a bike? They are becoming more popular these days due to people wishing to make a personal contribution to saving the earth.

@spendius,
That's suicide on the kinds of roads we travel here. Plus, the rainy season is about upon us. Razz

I wouldn't wish to prevent him even if I could. I wouldn't dream of advising him as if he was born yesterday either.

@spendius,
Cripes...your suggesting someone over 60+ years ride a bike in Houston suburbs in summer weather (10 months of the year)? Clearly you have no grasp of the environment, common sense or this culture.

The cultural norm is not even close to that say of other places in US, never mind UK or EU. People just don't expect to see cyclists ...as they don't look for them. Motorized scooters not that wise, perhaps. Motorcyclists take their lives in their hands, as it is.

@Ragman,
I can easily understand why so many persons get the biggest vehicles they can afford in my area. They have strong survival instincts.

@edgarblythe,
When I lived in Wichita Falls TX back when I was 21-22 I was in great shape. I did some binkig then. Admittedly the climates in WF and Houston are different...but...not that different. Hot, humid sticky during the 9-10 month summer 85-92 F was typical. Riding a bike on the public roads was a death wish. Back then, when I exercised and biked I did so in recreation areas such as a park where there were no cars - AT ALL!

Bike lanes? Bwahahaha!

@Ragman,
Drivers are impatient. Plus they have no respect for cycles and pedestrians. There aren't even shoulders on many roads, including the one to Tomball.
