@edgarblythe,
I have to say, I was taken a back, a few years ago and continue to feel that way, with regards to the Health System in America.. I believe Canada is simular? I can't recall how many times I have "read" " I had to wait 9 hours"..

D and I are discussing whether or not we should be bothered paying for Private Hospital Cover. We have Medicare, everyone has Medicare and it seems to me the Public Hospitals are just the same... We're investigating. In our opinion, whilst we are not rich either, it seems that our Government likes to "pretend" that spending a little per month, every year of our lives, for a better care should something arise is in our favour.

We think it's in theirs.

The medical system in the USA is designed to pick our pockets. That's why the poor are discriminated against.

@edgarblythe,
It'll change to have more democratic representation when they start having poor Congressmen. In other words, Nevermore!

@Ragman,
The only way anything will change is when reasonable Americans have had enough and vote the rascals out.

What is "proper care" ed? It's an open ended concept.

I said it is a very hard choice.

@spendius,
Proper care sure ain't sitting home with something eating away your life and you have to decide whether to expend the effort to get help or instead sacrifice your well being to see the children are fed.

@edgarblythe,
I know that ed. I'm not saying it's a very hard choice for no reason.

Proper care can eat up the GNP. A few times over.

@spendius,
Right now the military is doing just that. Time to change gears.

@edgarblythe,
and the circularity of it all is....if there were a reasonable nominating and electoral system that could supply us with qualified candidates that aren't already co-opted...then those rascals would be voted out and non-rascals voted in.

Our current 2-party-system must be daid 'cause it sure does stink like hell.

Sure enough, the car got totaled. The settlement is for more than I anticipated.
It has cost me out of pocket $900 to fix the truck, including $65 towing fee. Still have to put a new rear bumper.

It is predicted we shall have torrential rains today and manana. I will take it in any form I can have it, except for wind damage that may accompany.

My first crop of wheat grass should reach its six inch height today. They say it is more palatable than barley grass, which some use to the same purpose. Cut it off near ground level, enough to squeeze out 2 ounces.

@edgarblythe,
My ex wife was a holistic practitioner (and a nurse) who used to grow us wheat grass for juicing. She harvested it the way you outlined. It was so good tasting that my body craved it after about tasting it about 3 or 4 times. It is like nature's air conditioner, too.

@Ragman,
I plan to drink 2 ounces four times a day, on an empty stomach, if possible. It will be hard, because I am a nonstop nibbler.

@edgarblythe,
Our climate is muggy and warm most of the year. I have the impression that wheat prefers it a bit cooler than that. The wheat should be six inches by now, but it is more like 5. Still, it looks good and I look forward to the experience.

@edgarblythe,
What my ex wife used to tell me...is to not drink it down right away.. but swish it around in your mouth and let your saliva mix with it for a little bit (30 sec-1 min). It does something added healthwise but I can't recall 'zackly what. It's been 20 yrs. It could be that it's more satisfying and digestible..not sure.

I am excited and plan to begin first thing in the morning. That will cause a considerable delay in the morning coffee. But I take H3O before all else. I don't anticipate a conflict there. I take just two ounces and its not really food.

I had my first taste of wheat grass. Very nice. It takes more to produce that ounce than anticipated. I better get that third pan of it growing right away.

My truck runs much smoother than it has in a couple of years. I guess the rack and pinion thing was a good idea, even before the accident. All I need now is a bumper. Going to run over to Charlie's salvage in a bit to see what they have.

It rained a couple of buckets full yesterday and last night. I believe the worst is over. That's the way of it rainwise. Either we get too much or not enough.
