The truck's tie rods n stuff are messed up. I suspected it. Something kept the engine from getting fuel. The power steering. Alignment. I don't recall what all. In the neighborhood of $500. I told him, "Do what ya gotta do." I need the truck more than money right now.

I think that since I've made it this far, I'm going to have to return to taking my life and health more seriously. Too much lackadaisical behavior on my part which aggrieves the matters already in place.

@Sturgis,
Ultimately, we are responsible for our own health, I have seen it written and heard it said. That seems pretty harsh, but I guess it's true.

@edgarblythe,
I disagree with you at least somewhat. I also get your point.

Health issues vary.

@ossobuco,
But our present health has been and is still being determined by our own actions, with the exception of transmitted diseases and the like. Even how we react to said diseases, in part at least.

@FOUND SOUL,
Some think I go too far. I try to avoid lots of food products out there, as well as medications. In fact I don't remember the last time I went to a doctor or why I went, except to treat a few accidents, where I needed stitches or whatever. I seek out my remedies and such from an expanding contact with people I trust or occasionally want to experiment with. The experimenting is mostly of a minor nature, because there are things out there which could set one back, permanently.

Our receptivity to transmitted disease varies and may be due to our actions or the state of mind which results from them. The immune system itself.

So did I. Our immune system decides how we react. And the state of that is associated with our state of mind and that can be a result of how we have been behaving.

@edgarblythe,
Do you understand the implications?

Some people think that the medical profession creates anxiety which weakens immune systems and makes them more susceptible to weaker invaders and thus creates an ever expanding need for a larger and better funded medical profession.

Which might be the visceral objection to nationalised health care. Figures of £1000 for one after hours call out have been mentioned here recently. Charged to the taxpayer of course. Not the patient who is likely skint. And might only have cricked her neck.

It's a hard choice.

Socialized medicine, or what you wish to call it, is to me a no brainer. Too many Americans don't get proper care, because they cannot see a doctor. Many use the emergency rooms for any treatment they get because they can't have a regular doctor. Talk about anxiety. I once went to the emergency room of the charity hospital of Houston, because I had no insurance and nobody else wanted my case. My tooth was infected and the dentist who had messed up told me to go to a hospital immediately. The named hospital told me to go to the charity place and promptly wrote out a bill for me to pay for using their time like that. The charity hospital made me wait in line for nine hours. At one point I was taken for xrays. While I was gone another person came to take me for something else. When I returned, the guy who could not find me informed me I had been bumped to the back of the line for not being available. A real doctor, one who knew her business, finally walked the line and when she saw me she immediately had me admitted. After nine hours wait, I was at last being taken seriously. I was informed that had I waited any longer to be treated, I would have died. They operated on me within a few hours of being admitted. You want anxiety, try being poor and needy in America. There are people putting roadblocks to keep the poor from getting anything at all.
