@edgarblythe,
I think dental implants are okay. I've had caps put in since the early sixties by my brother-in-law, and they have never given me any problems. Since then, I've had more done on my lower teeth. They now cost a fortune to do. During our vacation to the national parks in May, one of my caps came loose, and the doctor in Jackson Hole charged me $165 just to glue it back on.

1178a. I have been thinking about dental implants. Not for me, but, as a general question. It just seems that invasion of the bones by screws would open the gate to future problems - such as deterioration of bone and creating a breeding ground for harmful bacteria.

Sometimes folks don't have any viable options, like when a hip or knee replacement operation is done. You can't get much more invasive than that.

Of course, these things are not without problems.

@Reyn,
I know a number of people who go about in their gums, eschewing dentures and implants. They seem to do just fine.

1182a. I was given a new keyboard. Since, it is amazing how much better my typing has gotten.
1183a. I researched a title I have given a new lyric. It appears no one has used it. Then it should be easy to pick out, should one decide to look. Which they rarely do. Lyrics are a dime a dozen.
1184a. The moringa has several inches to grow before I can trim it. It was at fifty the other day.

1185a. Four inches of rain in Tomball last night. That'll croak a few frogs.
1186a. Astros ball club - They fired the manager and a few coaches. Desperate move for a failing team.
1187a. I watched Punky dig a hole yesterday. Every tree root in her way, she grabbed it and shook her head to break it loose. Then took the end and pulled until it went off to the side. She is a hole engineer.
1888a. A headline says the Republicans have decided to embrace and campaign on Ryan's budget ideas. This may be the Democrats' last chance to explain to the nation why such lunacy must fail.

1189a. There's a nitty and there's a gritty. Right now gritty preponderates.
1190a. I wonder if Mars has any known caverns to put a rover in? I really should google the proposition and see what's being done about it.

So, you've been hogging all the rain? I was wondering where it went to! Wink Laughing

Seriously though, is there any flooding?

@Reyn,
The water temporarily flooded a few streets, but, Tomball is essentially high ground. Not to worry, about flooding.

I stopped as I crossed the big Arkansas river south of my place.

dry as a bone. not even a damp spot...

tomorrow as I go to town Ima find out how far it goes before the dams in the city affect it.

I've never seen it this dry here...

@Rockhead,
That's what I said about here, last year. I suspect the drought is like a wobbly eye and we can all expect varying degrees of it. Us being near the gulf likely saves us much of the time.

1191a. I am totally annoyed with the writer of the current version of Alley Oop. In the old days, Oop was a wild man that you did not want to mess with. He went from era to era all over the world and spent a great deal of time in the 20TH Century. He went to the moon. In the 1960s he was a professor at some college for a time. Yet, in the current story lines he gets pushed around a lot and he doesn't know what a rubber ball is (because in Moo balls are made of rock). Ooola too gets pushed around, but she was sort of a Red Sonja in many old stories. It's not evolution of character we are asked to read. It's desecration.
1192a. I am ready to begin trimming of my biggest moringa today. The instructions say to be not afraid to cut one of these trees. It will thrive and even love you for cutting it. Commercial growers often only let them get 60 cm tall. One person with a web site grows his to nine feet. They grow tall and sparse of limb if not pruned to make a bush. Mine is near five feet. I figure in cold weather I could cover one that size to try to keep it from freezing.

Here is one link to moringa pruning. A good read, even if you have no intent to grow one.

1193a. The trimming went well. It was achieved in less than five minutes. I took the cut off leaves inside and washed them and ate them as part of my lunch. Then put the stems under one of the trees, because it was recommended that it is the best kind of mulch for them.
1194a. Wax in my ear, last night. I put a little peroxide in there and now I can hear well again.
1195a. Of all the spam emails I get I am the most outraged over the invitations to join "Fuckbook." I should not have to be confronted with that every time I want to check my email. At first, I merely deleted those messages, but lately I block the addresses they contain. Sometimes I go almost a month without seeing any.

So what do these leaves taste like? Do you eat them plain, or in a salad?
