Here is another grave that isnt "interesting" for any conventional reason....

aside from the fact that it is FRESH...and from 1957 Shocked

( This is an answer to Reyn's question about regulations on headstones. )
Apparently, there is none.
Wich to me, is wonderful.

This is my favorite of all the 'odd' gravemarkers. It is in the pauper section.
There is another one in the yard, and when I get a picture, I will post it. It is in better shape then this one. But this one houses 3 people.

And just being semi-morbid, I wanted to post some with pictures.

I dont know why, but i find it facinating to be able to see the person who is buried there.

This grave is from 1977
http://img443.imageshack.us/img443/1985/picture051oi1.jpg

And this one is from 1917? I believe?

I always wonder how many headstones have been lost to the earth.

They say there are 23,000 marked graves... but what about the slave area? Where there are NO headstones, yet tons of sinks in the ground? Who counts those?

Or ones like these-

That is only at the surface because I "dug" it up.
I saw the corner of a piece of stone sticking out , so I pulled off the weeds to find a headstone for twins from the 50's I believe.

This headstone has a story I would love to hear.

He either-
Really made someone angry
or
Cheated on his wife.

http://img408.imageshack.us/img408/2715/picture128ru7.jpg

There are headstones next to his that say ' Consort of William Bell"
and they are all women, all alive at the same time.

Then, in the corner there are a few itty bitty stones arranged in a pattern with no markings what so ever..

"love" children?

Was he a Mormon?

Oh yeah.. and who killed him?

The who what and why was , as you can see, carved into his headstone.
But , what you can not see are the scratch marks where someone decided this information was not appropriate, or it would have convicted them of murder.

It was pouring rain when I was photographing yesterday so I was in a bit too much of a hurry to get a picture and get my camera out of the rain to get all the great details..

Im going to post the fences now.

I just finished touching up the pictures and I think they look really good considering the amount of rain we got that day.

I apologize for the exposure on these pictures.
My camera was in a bag that reflected my flash really bad. So, I just turned it off. And in a rain storm that leaves everything dark and dingy..

BUT-

these 2 are the only fences that have not been bothered in the yard.
It makes me think that they are just too 'plain', but if you look really close, at least I think, they appear to be of a higher quality of work then the other ones.

But im no fence expert.
Osso will like these, and can correct me if Im wrong..

I dont know how clear this is ( I have yet to hit preview) but this has a copyright of 1884 stamped on it. Not that it is pivotal information, just neat to know.
