One of my favorite trees.

The colors in this photo are exactly the colors on the tree.

I have NO clue what it is, but it is beautiful.
The bark looks as if it twists on itself all the way up the body

It's a shame about the statue (6 photos up) that has no head. I don't understand this kind of vandalism. Mad

Interesting tid-bit

the X down the center was created by a family member soon after the stone was in place. Noone knows WHY.. but at the time, the law was called and that person was given a ticket.

Interesting shot of the soldiers' graves. I like the angle. Smile

My wife is really into genealogy and also has some photos of ancesters' graves.

Graveyards in England are fascinating places to visit she has told me. Hundreds of years old.

I've posted on some thread my photo of Harold's tomb from 1066 in Waltham Abbey.

We have some rather old cemeteries in Germany as well, here

Unfortunatly, most of the ones here in austin ( that are known) are not that old, and not well kept.

The oldest are from the Spanish American war... i think..
very few are older then that, but the problem is that the spot where the grave is , is mostly unknown

This monument is made entirely of Zinc . About 20 feet tall, it is full of details. Very pretty actually.

These people used to take care of the yard before they died. Most of the times being the ONLY people to care for the 10 + acres, for months on end.

When they died, it took the city of austin , ( if I remember correctly ) almost 30 years to step forward and offer assistance.
