did that sound bad? Embarrassed apologies... I just meant I'm told I don't look my age fairly often, and I guess I try to keep myself up.

We blush, but you'd have to look close to tell. Smile

snood--you turd--
The honkies were mad at me, because my first list was 100% black.
I had to make reparations.

What's up with A2K today? It's taking threads forever to load. And I have a DSL connection, too. Plus, I haven't gotten any e-mail update advisories in ages.

MA and Snood, it must be A2K. I'm having problems, too, even with broadband. And no reply updates on threads, as MA says.

Look close, huh, Snood? I can do that...

I just stumbled into this room myself, but made a hasty retreat when I noticed Snood and Kara carrying on in such a fashion as to lead me to believe the shedding of clothes and heavy breathing would be forthcoming. I certainly do not want to be accused of voyeurism.

I can't find, on a quick trace back, where I gave links for Marcus
Aurelius and Benvenuto Cellini. Maybe I only imagined it.

I'm fed up. I rewrote the long, gracious post--and couldn't get it to post again. To hell with gracious. Now I'm interested only in pithy.

Kara, I've never heard of Jamie O'Neill. I will investigate.

Snood, Sorry about your bad day at work. The ass kissers usually prevail. Sad but true.

Sofia. An eclectic list. Molly Brown and Joan of Arc. Also, did you say "honkies." Nah. I musta been hallucinating.

Cav, ROFLMAO re JdA and the her post-execution complexion.

Osso, No one will fault you for low blows at Lucrezia Borgia.

Welcome ClickForth, Care to favor us with a list of dinner guests?

My tenth writer--after much culling, ruminating, and pondering--is Robert Burns. (See my signature line.)

Done. Pithy. I'm out of here.

Roberta, sometimes my computer goes into freezes routinely, and I start "cutting" when my posts get over a few sentences,so in case of sudden computer tharn I can paste into a new reply box. Then of course it won't freeze for a while and I get snagged again, with a long heartfelt soliquy lost in space.

Honkies-- An affectionate slang term for my homies. They didn't mind. I am a honky, as well.

I am excited by all the chutzpah at my party. Molly is cool. William Wallace is a hero of mine from way back--and I want to discern whether Joan was one of the most courageous women in history---or a little too tightly wrapped... Sanger--another heroic person.

Roberta,

I know what you're feeling. Sad

I got burnt that way several times on lengthy posts that I thought (immodestly) were brilliant, witty, profound etc.

I don't know about you, but when you're a slow, one finger typist like me, it's like climbing up a mountain only to slide all the way to the bottom again and you just want to say 'to hell with it'.

Idea For whatever it's worth I now do any long-ish posts on notepad first, then copy and paste them.
