Happy happy! Hope you had a fantastic birthday dinner and got everything you wanted.
cute painters
Many thanks to all for your birthday wishes!!
Marycat, I got everything I wanted except for a certain painter--Gautam, get with the program!!!
It really was quite nice and being 60 is just lovely--I've never had this much freedom in my life and I'm enjoying it to its fullest.
BTW, I can't get the last page of Dear Diary to open. Has anyone else had this problem?
Happy Birthday Diane.
Age brings experience and experience brings increased pleasure. I hope you had a gratifying birthday.
Dear Diary, Just returned from seven days in London. Saw three shows, CHICAGO, BOMBAY DREAMS, and WE WILL ROCK YOU. All fantastic shows, but loved We Will Rock You the most. It was such a joyous show, I was actually crying. That never happened to me before. Went to most of my favorite museums; the National Gallery, the British Museum and Library, the Maritime Musuem, the Royal Observatory, the Tate Modern, Westminster Abbey, St Paul's, the Victoria and Albert Museum, and Madame Toussaud's Wax Museum. Even rode on the London Eye, the largest ferris wheel in the world. Got some good pics of Big Ben and Parliament. We had a A2K London Gathering on March 20 at the ye olde Cheshire Cheese, the pub frequented by Dickens and Dr Johnson. Met with Walter, Gautam, kitchenpete, McTag, Steve, and Fiona. We went to Bombay Palace for dinner, and said our goodbyes about 10:30. A good time was had by all. c.i.
c.i., did you get any pics? Gonna post um? Cheshire Cheese huh? Interesting.
WOW CI!!! What a great trip!
Dear Diary,
I am STRESSED OUT!!!
Why does all this legal stuff with the lease and moving and so forth have to be so gosh darn complicated? It should have been, oh you're moving? do you have a person to take the place? does he have a job? yes, well then great! have a good trip, good luck, sorry to see you go, but we're happy to take this guy's money instead of yours.
Instead it's just nuts. Nuts. It should be resolved tomorrow. If it isn't, then I will scream.
Wasn't there a kind of therapy called "Primal Scream?"
Let it out, Marycat. Just let me plug my ears first.
AAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRGGGHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!
Thanks, Diane. I do feel a bit better now.
Off to prepare for various meetings... Or maybe spend a little more time a2k'ing first.
On a different note, it looks like a lovely day out today. Perhaps the lovely day will help all the respective parties' moods and make the meetings easier...
Dear Diary,
springtime is definitely here now and I love it. I even went to the carwash this morning before going to work. This weather will make it a lot easier to adapt to Florida conditions on Sunday or rather Monday, since we are arriving at night on Sunday.
I went to visit a girl from work who had her first baby two weeks ago. It's a very sweet little baby girl - who cried, of course.
Yesterday at work we had a conference call with people from the US, Sweden and Germany to discuss our upcoming meeting in Germany. The Americans are worried about travelling to Germany because it might be too anti-American. Strange! When I tell people in Germany that we are going to the US on vacation everybody asks if I am not afraid that I will be treated badly as being a German coward. Well, I am really looking forward to our trip.
Urs, you should look forward to your trip. I really think any animosity is directed toward governments rather than individuals (on both sides of the Atlantic).
Also, I doubt that very many people have any real sense of animosity toward the governments of France or Germany, unless they are old grumps anyway.
Right, Diane, that's what I am thinking. There are people here in Germany saying that they wouldn't travel to the US because they don't want to support that government in any way. Well, I doubt that the money we will be spending will finance anything related to the war.
And I am visiting people - not governments.
I am very much looking forward to the trip. :-)
Urs, you don't have a thing to worry about, we are so looking forward to meeting our beloved A2K friends and cementing the friendship, face to face!
If I thought Americans would treat you badly, I wouldn't want any part of them either!
Dear Diary,
I have to say goodbye for two weeks. We are flying to Florida in four hours!
:-)
'Bye Urs, have a great trip!
Safe trip, Urs!
Dear Diary,
I also have to say good bye for about a week. We're picking up the car today, loading it up, finishing everything we need to finish, and tomorrow morning we set out on the road! I may or may not have internet access again till we get there, so I'll say so long for a week just in case.
Woohoo! Texas, here we come!
Dear Diary,
These days, I tend to drift in thought...big chunks of fantasy mixed in with recurring themes. While sitting on the edge of my bed, I survey the bird feeder and surrounding trees, mosses and wind bent limbs. Then, I apply the foot creme to a foot, rub it in, pull on a sock...drift again. Actually, this is nothing new; it is me. I take a half an hour to get dressed...sometimes longer, the war coverage, NCAA basketball, wandering thoughts, surrealistic...
