DD, Wow twice to you in one day !! But when msolga calls, who can resist ??? I had the same problem - what to keep and what to discard, specially since I have accumalated so much stuff over the last 8 years, especially clothes. Implusive buying will be the end of me I think. But I came upon a simple solution - I got everything which was not immediately needed, packed in crates, and got them moved to the loft !!

Polar flame is sort of yellowish orange, or maybe orangish yellow. (I see only the 7 basic color u see). It has not been changed, as my decorator (a very cute Polish guy) says that it will grow on me (decorator speak for "you'll get used to it you unartistic nincompoop"). And I think he is right - I don't think it is too bad now... and since it costed me 500 quid just to paint my kitchen, I won't even think of redoing it for the next couple of years !!

Ah, the ol' pack it in the loft & forget it trick! What a good solution! Very Happy
& after paying 500 pounds, I think I'd grow to love Polar Flame, too!

Gautam, I have a little problem in combining 'the mediterranean look' with 'Polar Flame'. But your description of the colour did help. Why on earth is it called Polar Flame, I wonder?

Dear Diary,

Once again, I let myself be talked into something. In December, Susan bought four tickets for a musical which is on tonight. She gave two to her parents for Christmas, one is for herself, of course. And she couldn't get rid of the spare one (why she bought it beats me). I said I'm not going because it's pretty expensive. But she called today - and of course I am going to the musical tonight. Oh well, it's Abba and Beatles combined and I love their music. Could be worse, I guess.

Dear Diary,

Well, it's getting close to that day when I fly from San Francisco to London, and I'm really looking forward to meeting everybody at the ye olde Cheshire Cheese on the 20th. I also booked two shows while I'm there for six nights; the Bombay Dream and We Will Rock You. Also looking forward to visiting the British Museum and the National Gallery, my two favorite museums in this world. Will get a chance to get a ride on the Eye, the biggest ferris wheel in the world. I'll probably hop over to Greenwich to visit the international date line and the Maritime Museum. Maybe take in a concert at the Barbican and St Martin in the Fields. Jeees, getting ants in my pants. Wink c.i.

Dear Diary
Guess I'm feeling bad - well the truth is I haven't been myself in weeks, respiratory virus, flu, work, busy busy busy - then stress attack then
tired & medicated. So I've been around but not as much as I like. In many places, not much time or depth - the web business and sites are
suffering (hobby). But the job (real work) keeps on grinding. They laugh when I'm out, it so quiet and then when I'm here, we so darn busy.
Oh on the bright side the migraines seem to be a thing of the past!!! That God for beta blockers!

PS - sometime I will post more on a regular basis - I'm planning anyway Smile

Dear Diary,
I'm off to see the Wizard..the wonderful Wizard of Oz...Oops! Actually, time to visit the midwest to do some family/friend social work. Wednesday, it's Lebanon, Ky to visit B.'s best friend. Spunky lady in her 70s, who has survived cancer, a major accident and hip surgery. Followed by Friday in Indiana to spend time with my 49 year-old sister who gave birth to twins last year; also our 90 year-old father, who was recently transferred from the hospital to a nursing home, then Saturday-Monday, to see my daughter and her husband in Cincinnati.

Our entry into Kentucky included pelting rain and hail. But the rising curtain of sun revealed rolling hills of green, barns, fences and cattle silouhetted against the sky. Colonial style two story homes surrounded by a century of bush and tree growth dotted the landscape. All stirred pleasant thoughts in my memory banks.

Dear Diary

I returned yesterday from a short trip to the US. To my great relief the pipes in my country cabin had not frozen during Missouri's cold spells. I'd left a baseboard heater on and sealed off the rooms without waterpipes using a foil-faced bubble wrap insulation material. Amazingly it worked. A friend will go in and turn off the heater in a few weeks and I'll return in early October to winterize again.

The trip to Cali was not with out incident. On the Miami-Cali leg the pilot announsed a drop in cabin pressure and that we'd have to land in Bogota. Something about it being much higher (it's a thousand feet higher than Denver) and El Dorado airport is far better equiped to make repairs. We landed at 8:30pm and were told we'd be put on an Avianca flight to Cali. That didn't happen. By midnight the two little American Airlines girls finally arranged hotel lodging in Bogota for the whole planeload. Fortunately the flight was only half full. It was hardly worth it though since we all got a wake-up call at 4:00am so as to get back to the airport for the first flight to Cali. What a mess! Caili-Bogota is only a half hour in the air so I finally walked into my house in Cali at 8:30am.

Gautam, your descriptions are the best! Love your house and all the upgrades you are making. Is anything happening with the cute painter? Tell all, well as much as you care to divulge......

The London meet has made me soooo jealous, even though I get to attend the Florida gathering. I admit, I can be greedy about meeting a2kers--they are truly delightful and remarkable people.

Our son has been here from Boston. He is excited because one of his paintings was accepted in a juried show. He wasn't thrilled with the painting they selected, but didn't want to argue.

We've been busy sight-seeing with him and letting him have time to walk the beach and enjoy the warmth. It is such a joy to have family visit. We are so lucky--life is so sweet.

Dear Diary,
Today, I am in Cincinnati, Ohio. From the second story of my daughter's apartment, I can peer over the dog's blankee and see the bud's just beginning to burst on the maple trees. We just learned that two of her best friends are pregnant...joy abounds...sweet-sour since she may not be able to have children. My 48 year-old sister, her twins and their daddy should arrive any minute. Did I tell you the sun is grinning and cotton white clouds pepper the sky?
