SNOPES: urban myth re Oliver North's testimony false
I watched Oliver North's testimony and remembered it differently from what was posted above here by cjhsa. SNOPES cites it as an urban myth.---BBB

Conservatives love these ridiculous myths. They feed on the lies and misinformation that supports their ideology.

Yes, we are all uninformed euro-trash. So uninformed, that we post urban legends as examples of how in-the-know we are.

I'm taking bets on whether cjhsa will acknowledge the falseness of the story, and/or offer any apology for the name-calling he piggybacked on it.

Any takers?

Better to believe a partial truth than the anti-american left wing claptrap being posted on most of A2K these days.

What a foolish thing to say.

As an aside, North was a goddamned traitor who sold out the nation to protect his masters. Truly a despicable human being. The fact that you hold him up as an authority on anything doesn't say much about you.

What part of what you posted was true?

BBB, to the right, you are presenting inconvenient truths. They much prefer their own variation of the truth (better known as lies).

North should have been sent to prison for lying to congress and other crimes. A very rightwing panel majority in the federal court of appeals had to really strain to reverse North's and Poindexter's convictions. But North remains a hero to the Republicans.

Oliver North disgraced his Marine uniform, betrayed his country, and made a lucrative living as a result. Hate for pay!

I can respect someone who makes a mistake and admits it. I have no respect for those too insecure to admit their mistakes. You know the type, wimps in bully clothing.

Ah, shoot. I thought cjhsa might cop to the obvious mistake.

Guess I shouldn't have given him any credit for integrity.

I think the only lib I've seen admit a mistake here so far has been blatham. I was surprised to be honest.

Well, it does happen occasionally that one of us will make a mistake and apologize for it.

My rule of thumb re taking a poster's views seriously is that he or she NOT make statements like "liberals/conservatives always/never..."

Shows a closed mind.

Nope. He proved you right in his very next post after yours. No surprise there.

Are incidents of terrorism up worldwide or just in Iraq where a war is being waged between many parties all with different goals?

Those of this board who support the liberal agenda over anti-terrorism efforts should be ashamed.

Well, the second sentence is grounded in some sort of fantasy. Geez! I'm glad this ranter thinks we are all that young!

Hey, anyone who supports the conservative agenda should be ashamed for their view on anything, not just war. There's a Condi Rice clone (same too short, too tight skirt) running for governor her in Massachusetts who thinks, contrary to the way most Republicans supposedly think, that senior citizens do not deserve a break on their property taxes because they are all "over housed." Wow! That's Republican hypocrisy for you.

Remember, this bloody war in Iraq, the gateway to WWIII, was begun on a lie and has created an unsolveable problem. That's the conservative way: start something you can't finish. If it's a war, it exists only because they think that's what history is -- one war after another.

I forgot you cyclops, I think you apologized for a mistake or two. My apologies for not mentioning you with blatham. I think Walter apologized once or twice as well.

And there are many on the Right side of the fence who have done the same, for which I thank them.
