You call this man sane? And he's got many nukes.

The Iranian president is an eloquent, excellent speaker, upfront and intelligent. Things Bushie is NOT.

As for your 12th Imam BS, why didn't Bushie go after Iran before they hit Iraq if the 12th Imam is such a menace? America always did like to make up bogeymen; it helps to sell arms and America is THE biggest arms dealer in the world. Go figure.

Yes but being religious is one thing, thinking you can bring about the apocalypse by using a nuke is another.

Because Bush is an idiot who messed up BIG time. Iraq was a huge dumbt mistake, im not pro bush. But i see all the warning signs with Iran.

we didnt sell arms to Iran though. And the arms we gave Saddam werent even used on us when we invaded. Soviet weapons were, Russia is the bigest arms dealer in the world.

PS just being a christian does not make you insane, believing you can cause the apocalypse does. If bush was in some extremist christian cult we'd be in danger but he is not, its more a political thing to be a christian in this nation. Iran's leaders ARE in a cult.

Read the highlighted areas carefully to understand the correlation between Shiite Muslim fanatics and Biblical Armageddon

"People are anxious to know when and how will He rise; what they must do to receive this worldwide salvation," says Ali Lari, a cleric at the Bright Future Institute in Iran's religious center of Qom.

"The timing is not clear, but the conditions are more specific," he adds. "There is a saying: 'When the students are ready, the teacher will come.' "

Paving the way is a renewed commitment to "Mahdaviat" beliefs by the ultraconservative government of President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, who lives so modestly that declared assets include only a 30-year-old car, an even older house, and an empty bank account. Cool (Unlike BushieCo)

These ideologues see the creation of the Islamic Republic in 1979 and efforts to rekindle its revolutionary ideals, as critical to paving the way for the Mahdi's return.

They say that return - which they believe will happen soon - will prompt a global battle between good and evil (not unlike biblical "Armageddon" interpretations), and herald an era of justice, peace, and the ultimate triumph of Shiite Islam.

The Bright Future Institute is preparing the ground, a leaflet explains, by developing the "true culture" of waiting for the Mahdi, "reject[ing] wrong ideas and preparing scientific answers to respond [to] superstitions," while working to "accomplish an ideal society which Imam Mahdi wants."

While he waits, Morteza Rabaninejad sits at a new computer with a new telephone and a new headset, answering five calls and 10 letters a day.

"Would you please explain all the signs of rising?" writes one correspondent. "What are the things we must do to make the Mahdi rise earlier than he is supposed to?"

Started in 2004, the institute is the eighth of its kind in Iran to study and even speed the Mahdi's return. But it is the largest and most influential, with 160 staff, a growing reach in local schools, children's and teen magazines, and unlimited ambition to spread the word.

The blend of modern technology and ancient prophecy echoes efforts of US evangelicals who use 45 categories - from liberalism to natural disasters - to predict the "end time," when holy people will experience "rapture" and go to heaven. For them, the "Rapture Index" (www.raptureready.com) is at 151; anything higher than 145 means "Fasten your seatbelts," because of what they deem a high level of prophetic activity.

Arrow So, who are the nuts? I'd say there's an equal amount in the US and Israel.

I did not see any mention anywhere of nukes in this article or any article talking about the big bad 12th Imam-their Jesus. If Iran can be categorized as dangerous because of their religious teachings; likewise the US and Israel for their rabid predications of the 'end times'.

But those nuts are not in power in the US or Israel. Thats the difference in Iran the nuts ARE in power and willing to do what they think is their job for Islam. thats the difference

America and Israel want power and wealth, not to carry out a religious war, however to Irans leaders power and wealth will come to them AFTER the Imam rises up, but to get that done they need a huge war. That makes them dangerous

Do you have any other source besides that "Telegraph" article? It's an interensting article, but it really does sound a lot like the conspiracy theories surrounding Bush.

And, what convinces you that Bush is not a Christian? It might not top his priorities, but I am sure that he believes he is a Christian. He was raised with it, and there's no indication that he ever rejected his faith.

I cant say for sure, but i dont see how you could be a true Christian and be in politics and in the US its more of a political thing for alot of people. Kinda like how saddam became Islamic to look better to his people awhile ago.

He's preparing for the return of the 12th Imam and the ONLY way in his religion for him to return is through the apocalypse. He means business.

"As mayor of Tehran, for example, Mr. Ahmadinejad appears to have in 2004 secretly instructed the city council to build a grand avenue to prepare for the Mahdi. A year later, as president, he allocated $17 million for a blue-tiled mosque closely associated with mahdaviat in Jamkaran, south of the capital. He has instigated the building of a direct Tehran-Jamkaran railroad line. He had a list of his proposed cabinet members dropped into a well adjacent to the Jamkaran mosque, it is said, to benefit from its purported divine connection."

It's what I figured. The BS coming from the Washington Post article that you have as a source here is written by Charles Krauthammer, who was born of JEWISH parents in Montreal (which is in Canada). check wikipedia, if you like.

Now, one must ask: does he have a special interest in villifying Iran? Yes. He's Jewish. In another thread I mention how the Jews/Zionists control the media. Here is proof. They are liars. Iran has done not a damn thing to warrant being threatened, other than the Jews in Israel don't like Iran.

Israel must be stopped from terrorizing people in the Middle East for their own gain. And the US must stop being the tit that Israel sucks. The Holocaust persection complex is getting old. You can't keep using guilt to control people.

Leave Iran, Pakistan and Iraq alone, America. Tend to your own affairs. Quit sending billions of dollars a year to Israel and help your own people.

Your media is putting another false spin on facts. Research who wrote the article

I have gotten my sources from many different places. The fact remains the same about Iran. They are paving the way for the 12th imam's return. from spending millions to set up roads to wells so he will come out and travel on them, to getting ready for war.

From what the president has said AND DONE its quite clear he believe in the 12th Imam. The source is immaterial to the fact. Its a fact he believes in this and his actions show he's working towards its return. To write something off because it comes from another persons views is ignorant.

Maybe. And the same can be said of President Bush. He claims to be a born-again Christian, who believes that the Second Coming of JesusChrist is a real, future event. He supports Christian institutions that invest a lot of time and energy into preparing as many people as possible for its return.
I don't know how much his religious convictions affect his policy decisions, but I am sure he is well aware that many Americans' support for Israel is determined by what they believe God wrote in the Bible.

Bush is a moderate christian if he is even one, you are comparing a extremist shia cult to christianity. thats dumb. He does not believe he can CAUSE the 2nd coming of christ, he believes jesus will come back when JESUS decides it. NOT when man, unlike Irans leaders. That is where it is different.

Yes they prepare people by teaching them to become christian not to start a world war so jesus will come back.

you have the moderate christians like bush who believe jesus is coming back but only when god decides, and you have a extremist shia cult paving the way with a military for the 12th imam because they believe they can MAKE him come back.

The source is immaterial to the fact. Oh, the source is everything, buddy. Your sources suck. Big time. How dare you villify an entire country based on hysteria filled BS with no basis in fact? Research the Shi'ites and Sunni's.
Its a fact he believes in this and his actions show he's working towards its return. To write something off because it comes from another persons views is ignorant. To write something off when it's completely without merit or substantiated by proof is smart. Which you aren't.

Look at your 'proof'! Nightmares? Farticles? Yet you think people should believe this garbage?

Yes, I can see you have some really impressive 'farticles' (as quoted in your sources). The TRUTH is that these farticles, excuse me, articles, are BS printed up by the Jews/Zionists to cause hysteria/fear (easy with Americans) and justify blowing up yet another country for no reason. If you want the truth, you will have to read the following from a reputable source and unbiased:

www.reference.com/browse/wiki/Muhammad_al-Mahdi

if you can follow the article and actually use your brain, you'll see that the Mahdi is no different to the Shi'ites than Jesus is to the Christians. Because the Christians await Jesus' return the same as these people await their Mahdi, does this make Christians evil? Are they paving the way to the end times? The crap you're posting here and using as references is ridiculous and has no basis in fact.

READ the following, if you're attention span can hang that long.......which I seriously doubt.

Muhammad al-Mahdi
Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia - Cite This Source

Muḥammad al-Mahdī (born 868) is the twelfth and final Shi'a Imam. Shi'as believe that the Mahdi was born in 868 as Muhammad ibn Hasan ibn Ali. The eleventh Shi'a Imam died on 8th Rabbi al-Awwal, 874, and since that day, his son Muhammad is believed by Shi'as to be the Imam, appointed by God, to lead the believers of the era.

He is the person believed by Shi'as to be the Mahdi; a figure considered by both Sunnis and Shias to be the ultimate saviour of humankind. Shi'as and Sunnis differ on the identity of the Mahdi, with Shi'as believing that he was born in 868 and has been hidden by God (referred to as occultation) to later emerge to fulfill his mission. Sunnis either believe that he is yet to be born, or that he was born recently and has yet to emerge. As such, the personality and account of Muhammad al-Mahdi in this article is one that is believed only by Shi'as. For a general overview of the Mahdi as accepted by the various divisions in Islam, see Mahdi.

Birth and family life
Shi'as believe that the Mahdi was born in 868 as Muhammad ibn Hasan ibn Ali. His mother, Narjis (Melika), was a Byzantine princess who pretended to be a slave so that she might travel from her kingdom to Arabia. His father, Hasan al-Askari, is believed to have been the eleventh and penultimate Shi'a Imam. Shi'as believe that his birth was kept a secret due to the persecution that the Shi'a were facing during this time at the hands of Al-Mu'tamid, the Abbasid Caliph.

According to Hadith of the messenger of Allah "I and `Ali are the fathers of this nation; whoever knows us very well also knows Allah, and whoever denies us also denies Allah, the Unique, the Mighty. And from `Ali's descendants are my grandsons alHasan and alHusayn, who are the masters of the youths of Paradise, and from alHusayn's descendants shall be nine: whoever obeys them obeys me, and whoever disobeys them also disobeys me; the ninth among them is their Qa'im and Mahdi." Ikmal of AlSaduq

Early life
The eleventh Shi'a Imam died on 8th Rabbi al-Awwal, 260/872 , and since that day, his son Muhammad is believed by Shi'as to be the Imam, appointed by God, to lead the believers of the era. The most popular account of Muhammad al-Mahdi in Shi'a literature is taken from his father's funeral. It is reported that as the funeral prayer was about to begin, Muhammad al-Mahdi's uncle, Jafar ibn Ali approached to lead the prayers. However, Muhammad al-Mahdi approached and commanded, "Move aside, uncle; only an Imam can lead the funeral prayer of an Imam." Jafar moved aside, and the five-year-old child led the funeral prayer for his father. It is reported that it was at this very moment that Muhammad al-Mahdi disappeared and went into ghaybat, or occultation.

The Occultation
Shi'as believe that, for various reasons, God concealed the twelfth and current Shi'a Imam, Muhammad al-Mahdi, from humankind.

Period
The period of occultation (ghaybat) is believed to consist of two parts:

Ghaybat al-Sughra or Minor Occultation, which took place between 873 and 939 and is the shorter of the two periods.
Ghaybat al-Kubra or Major Occultation, which began on 10th Shawwal 939 and is believed will continue until a time decided by God. At this point, the occultation will end and the Mahdi will reappear to bring absolute justice to the world.

Reasons
Shi'as cite references from the Qur'an and from various hadith (reports) in order to provide the following reasons behind the Mahdi's occultation.

1) Unknown

One of the reasons behind the Mahdi's occultation has been concealed by God from humankind.

2) Trial

The occultation, and in particular, its long duration, is a trial for believers. Shi'as believe that God examines the believers for the faith in their hearts and their beliefs in relation to the existence of the Mahdi.

3) Preparation

Before the Mahdi reappears to establish absolute justice throughout the world, humankind needs to make a certain amount of preparation. There will come a point when all ideologies and doctrines will fail and when every leader and government will rise to solve problems but will fail. It will then become clear that no one is capable of establishing justice in the world except God's viceregent, the Mahdi. Due to the lack of preparation and mankind low level of readiness to accept the rules of God, Imam Mahdi hs been concealed.

4) Lack of acceptance

Due to the persecution of believers and, in particular, of the other Shi'a Imams, as well as the prophets, it is clear that people are still refusing to accept God's viceregents. As such, just as Shi'as believe that God concealed prophets Jesus and Joseph (Arab. Isa and Yusuf), God has also hidden the Mahdi from humankind until such a time when suitable circumstances have arisen for his reappearance.
Minor Occultation
During the Minor Occultation (Ghaybat al-Sughra), it is believed that Muhammad al-Mahdi maintained contact with his followers via a succession of four appointed deputies (Arab. nuwwaab al-arba'a). They represented him and acted as agents between him and his followers.

Whenever the believers faced a problem, they would write their concerns and send them to his deputy. The deputy would ascertain his verdict, endorse it with his seal and signature and return it to the relevant parties. The deputies also collected zakat and khums on his behalf. For the Shia, the idea of consulting a hidden Imam was not something new because the two prior Shia Imams had, on occasion, met with their followers from behind a curtain.

The 4 deputies were:

Uthman ibn Sa'id al-Asadi
Abu Jafar Muhammad ibn Uthman
Abul Qasim Husayn ibn Ruh al-Nawbakhti
Abul Hasan Ali ibn Muhammad al-Samarri
In 329 AH, Muhammad al-Mahdi issued an order, via his 4th deputy, that the deputy would soon die, the Minor Occultation and the deputyship would end and the period of the Major Occultation would begin.

The 4th deputy died six days later and the Shi'a Muslims continue to await the reappearance of the Mahdi. In the same year, many notable Shi'a scholars such as Ali ibn Babwayh Qummi and Muhammad ibn Yaqub Kulayni, the learned compiler of al-Kafi also died.

There is a shrine for him in Samarra located next to those of his father and grandfather. The shrine is actually his house. It is common practice in some sects of Islam to preserve historical sites of religious figures as a mark of respect. (The Samarra mosque was bombed in February 2006, spurring a wave of violence.)

Major Occultation
According to the last letter of Muhammad al-Mahdi to Ali ibn Muhammad al-Samarri "from the day of your death [the last deputy] the period of my major occultation (al ghaybatul kubra) will begin. Hence forth, no one will see me, unless and until Allah makes me appear. My reappearance will take place after a very long time when people will have grown tired of waiting and those who are weak in their faith will say: What! Is he still alive?"
As he said in this letter nobody will claim to have seen him except liars.

According to another letter from Muhammad al-Mahdi "Rest assured, no one has a special relationship with Allah. Whoever denies me is not from my (community). The appearance of the Relief (al-Faraj) depends solely upon Allah. Therefore those who propose a certain time for it are liars. As to the benefit of my existence in occultation, it is like the benefit of the sun behind the clouds where the eyes do not see it."

Reappearance
Shi'as cite various references from the Qur'an and reports, or Hadith, from Muhammad and the twelve Shi'a Imams with regards to the reappearance of Muhammad al-Mahdi who will, in accordance with God's command, bring justice and peace to the world by establishing Islam throughout the world.

The prophet Muhammad is reported to have said:
"During the last times, my people will be afflicted with terrible and unprecedented calamities and misfortunes from their rulers, so much so that this vast earth will appear small to them. Persecution and injustice will engulf the earth. The believers will find no shelter to seek refuge from these tortures and injustices. At such a time, God will raise from my progeny a man who will establish peace and justice on this earth in the same way as it had been filled with injustice and distress."

Shi'as believe that when Muhammad al-Mahdi will reappear, the prophet Isa (Jesus) will also reappear and that he will pray behind al-Mahdi.

Sayings
With regards to advice for his followers during his absence, it is reported that he has said:

"Refer to the transmitters of our traditions, for they are my hujja (proof) unto you and I am God's proof unto them."
******************************

I see no threats made to the world. It reads much like the Bible, if you've read any of that book. Interesting that they mention Jesus as well.

Who is singing that? no one is. Nice try.

If you knew ANYTHING about religion you'd know Christianity is very peaceful, humans are not. Islam is a religion of peace, yet people hijack it for political reason. Did you know there were even extremist Budhist who killed people? Even though their religion is very peaceful they changed it to what they like.

So Islam and Christianity all teach peace, humans just hijack it for political reasons. But basic Islam and Christianity is far different then the extremist forms. So to compare a regular christian belief to a extremist shia sect is BEYOND dumb. Were talking about religious extremist not just a moderate religious person.

Mahdi and Jesus
SOURCE: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mahdi

Emergence of the Mahdi

Sunni and Shi'a sources

He emerges during the last days of the world from Makkah
He and Isa (ie. Jesus) are two different individuals; This so accepted by consensus of earlier scholars, although it counters the prophetic tradition presented by famous Muslim historian Ibn Khuldun. He quotes Anas ibn Malik that the prophet said, "لا مهدي إلا عيسى بن مريم", literally meaning: No Mahdi but Jesus son of Mary.
He precedes the second appearance of Jesus
He establishes justice, peace and truth throughout the world (or land, the Arabic word "الأرض" pronounced al-ardh does not necessarily translates to whole world or Planet Earth only, it basically means 'land' and could thus address to some nation or part thereof.)
Jesus defeats the Deceiving Messiah or Antichrist, known as al-Masih ad-Dajjal
Once the Deceiving Mesiah is defeated, Jesus and the Mahdi live on Earth to live out their natural life
The Mahdi will correct the false or corrupted practices in Islam, and Jesus will likewise correct false practices done in his name (i.e. Christianity)
Some scholars also established Jesus could be praying behind Mahdi.
Jesus will destroy all the crucifixes and false churches

Exclamation Notice how many times JESUS is mentioned in the above article.
Whether it be Mahdi or Jesus, or both doesn't matter to me as long as there is peace on this planet. And it will be achieved with or without BushCo and his religious fanatic phony carpetbaggers.

Yes, believe in the rapture, this has nothng to do with that. They dont believe they can CAUSE the rapture for political gain....most muslims and christians believe in the end days where jesus comes back BUT only a few extremist in both religions believe they can cause it. Learn something before you talk.
