The glass flower exhibit was recently renovated - VERY CAREFULLY! I haven't been since. When I did go it was with my 2 year old neice. BAD idea. If you have a little focus and some time, the exhibit is jaw-dropping.

I used to go there as a kid. I grew up a half mile from there.

I went as a kid once or twice. I grew up a half hour from there. If you still lived where you grew up we'd prolly be neighbors.

Thanks for the tips guys. I'm in meetings all day tomorrow, ending at 4 or so and Wednesday until 5 and the same is true for Thursday. Friday I may have some free time to sneak away. Any of these times sound good to you little k? I expect the museum closes sometime around 6 or so. I'll let you know by PM when I know more about my daytime schedule for Friday. Thanks for the offer to be a guide. I'd love it if we can manage to be free at the same time. The glass flowers sound wonderful........

On friday I can show you at least where the buildings are in the morning before work. I don't start my work day until 11:30. I can also check out the hours of operation. The library here has free passes to these museums I can pick up for you too.

I can. I have to stand on my roof and squint, but then I can. Move over just a tad... there. Perfect.

(I have had SUCH a lousy day. I'm beyond slap-happy.)

Nothing specific. Just a zillion little things, no break. Several permutations of a theme -- I do work, someone else gets credit. Particularly in this stupid committee. I have about had it with committees. I don't do well with halfway -- I've been trying hard to stop being Ms. Overachiever and just do what I have to do, nothing more, but it makes me insane when someone criticizes me and I can't crush him with the might of my righteousness. I haven't messed up, but I haven't gone way beyond the call of duty, either. Just done what I have to do, including lots of subtle things with helping the president who has been asking me for advice, she implements the advice, she gets credit. Shouldn't bother me, usually doesn't, did today for some reason.

Plus I haven't had nearly enough sleep. And the sozlet has been much moodier than usual post-trip to Iowa. Standard post-trip behavior.

I'll get over it. Thanks for asking. End of rant. Razz

Thanks BobSmyth!

Soz, sorry to hear it, that's one reason I'm an avid avoider of bureacratic type work situations. Course, I do get the grumpy kid end......

Yes, Soz I also get annoyed sometimes if the recipient of my advice never acknowledges my input in any way. But I think I only get upset when my contribution is an original idea.......or original enough, or.........I should say a creative solution to a particular problem. This especially annoys me if I'm particularly proud of my creative idea........... If it happens too often, I stop being so helpful. Let the person taking credit struggle with it on his/her own. It's the only way I've found to live with this particular kind of encroacher.

And, for me it's not too far off the subject here, since I'm here in Boston at meetings........thinking, idea, scientific meetings.

And young kids, while rewarding, can be a burden at times of strain.

But right now, I'm off to that lingerie shop across the street that I mentioned earlier.
