Something I learned about weddings long ago; always make the gift cash, and never seal the envelope untill you've seen the bar and banquet setup.

The whole point I am tring to make is the body has developed to cope with those functions. Butt not with Anal penetration.

Anyway my argument falls in a heap when you consider gay women. So incredibly sexist as it may sound I have now issue with gay women marrying.
I do have a problem with female gay couples wanting state supported invitro in order to give birth. In fact that probably extends to any invitro.
A woman makes a decision not to engage in coitus with a man, surely that means she is making a decision not to have children. Cant have one without the other can we or are we at a stage in human social development where testicals are (becoming) redundant.

Even in the insect world where a hive of bees has all (undeveloped) females workers, male bees (drones) are still on hand for procreation. This is their only task too

ahhh dream on

Um...dad you have no trouble with women marrying but the idea of men doing the same turns you off? You are correct sir! That IS incredibly sexist -- and homophobic! Last time I checked we were very different species from bees. Bees have six legs - we only have two.

For the logical reasons I have outlined.

Lets get some thing straight here Nick

MEN AND WOMEN ARE DIFFERENT
Phsyically emotionally and psycologically why do you have a problem with me treating people differently based on their physical emotional or psycological needs.
Two women in a committed relationship dont stick their penises up each others anuses. Why? cause they dont have penises

Ps can i come over and stick my dick up your arse.

Actually, you're spot on prince...I asked a gay friend if he would marry if it was legal....just got an eye roll and the response..."it's just something else for people to fight about"

Dadpad....since it's OK for lesbians, that means you still haven't given a GOOD reason.

Also then, if you're OK with oral sex, what about between 2 men? No sewers there.

That reminds me of this (hetero) guy I know that is, shall we say, not incredibly insightful (now hold on dadpad, I'M NOT including you in that statement, you post just reminds me of the story to follow....)

Anyway, this one time he was opining how disgusting it was in porno movies when two guys are together because they were gay.
I asked - what about 2 women together?

Oh no - that's hot.

Me: why - doesn't that mean they're lesbians?

him: no - they're straight.

Me (blinking): How so?

him: they're just acting.

me: Well, maybe the guys are just acting.

him: NOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!! The women are doing it fantasizing about guys watching them! The guys are just gay!

me: I see. When you put it that way, you're an idiot.

I was getting ready to call my sister in law and tell her to 'fess up....Ruth, when you're with Barb (who's she been with like 30 years), you're thinking about men watching you, aren't you?

What about lesbians who stick things up each others butts?

The whole "it's against nature" argument falls in a heap as soon as you ask:

Do you use air conditioning?
Do you drive a car?
Have you ever flown?
Do you use products with plastic?
Do you shop in a grocery store?

Go back to nature, and let the rest of us get on with civilization.

chai I'm just trying to develop an alternative argument.

I really cant find one, not a good one that holds up anyhow.

Most of the gay men and women I know are far far nicer people than many of the hetros I know, and would also make better parents I believe.

I have nothing against gay people, in fact, I often find gay men are more funny and nicer then their hetero counterparts. A category which includes me, btw, and I can honestly say I am a lousy dresser and totally un-fun.

Now, I think gay people, be they lesbian or homosexual, have every reason to marry or not, and should do so if they feel like it. On the other hand, I think as far as children goes, they should be raised in a loving family with a normal, biological mother and father. I even dislike divorce when kids are involved, because they usually suffer under the consequences.
Can a gay couple truly provide a healthy environment for kids to grow up in? A father/mother figure is missing, not only that, but think about all the crap those kids will endure in school because of it.

So I guess I'm saying that being gay is fine by me, except when it involves kids.

My initial reaction is

Uh.. its not MY marriage so I dont give a fk WHO is marrying WHO

so, if I have only one thing I can say -

I am for it.
There is not a person in the world who should be given enough power to decide for individual people who they can and cant marry.

marriage is a 'religious' ceremony anyway. One that has found its way into our legal system.. wich I have a problem with.. but that is another thread/subject all together.

If it is not your bed, then it is not your business

I'm for it. The more people we sign up for this insanity the better.

Seriously though, I just can't see any reason to prevent two consenting adults from committing legal to one another.

I take offense to that.

Some people throw their kids away and us normal, loving, non-biological parents pick up the slack.
