HofT, it will be great to see Maraso again. I know him well, not only from his party but also from the philosophy threads on Abuzz. He is always welcome here.

And Deb, if you don't go out to have fun there tomorrow (today for you) you'll have to join us here. I'll be out, but I'm sure there will be plenty to hold court and I'll join you all when I can.

And Blatham, bath oil beads and manliness are often mentioned together in articles like, "20 Things He Secretly Wants" There's a copy of Bedbook over there on the table, look for yourself, darlin.

Well, in or out, 'twill be fine! Ich bin nur (can't do umlauts!) ein bisschen blau...does that work in German?

But - I do hate being blue!

<Up early to take the horses for a gallop in Central Park, Stradee and HofT come across Mikey, who's wandering around the entrance hall of Lola's townhouse talking to himself and looking somewhat the worse for wear. He takes one look at their riding boots and attempts to address them in German; Stradee and HofT exchange a glance and burst out laughing.>

"Mikey, have you been drinking?" the ladies ask.
"You mean you're not extras from a WWII movie?" Mikey mumbles.

HofT rings the bell; Withers promptly appears with one footman.

"Withers, kindly escort Mr. Mikey to his room; he's been out at the all-night bars on 11th Avenue slumming - I mean, collecting material for the great American novel he's working on. We all look forward to reading it!" <G>

jes tosses an old sweater into the Goodwill box. "Uh, sorry, Mikey, didn't see ya there. My bad."

PS Reading the new pages in reverse order makes for a zen experience.

An empty experience? What an interesting concept! Literal-minded Japanese translates "zen" as "empty"... Lola and whoever else shows up for the party: have just filed flight plan to Quebec City with refuelling in Maine [so OK, don't YET have a jet, experimental or otherwise, even though Blatham did promise me a F-117 (sniff, sob, cry!)]. Back on January 6th, weather permitting. Have fun and pls keep that poker table available - true gamblers will play at all hours. All good wishes for the New Year 2003!

HofT, The hindu think of Zen as 'truely knowing one's own self', more or less, there are various interpretations. The practice involves 'emptying' your mind of thought to allow one's true nature to surface in one's own mind. This 'emptying' is variously accomplished by the repetition of 'mantra's' in order to focus on nothing. It is the hardest - or the easiest - thing to ever try to do, depending on the persons willingness to believe it will happen or to open up to him/herself. The objective of all this is to reach inner peace and arrive at 'Nirvana', a higher plane of existence.
Very interesting, and mild.
'Getting to know you, getting to know all about you' good song for a Zenner to sing to him/herself. :-D :-D

Lost somewhere in the City, Diane asks a pleasant looking woman where she is in relation to Lola's. The woman replies, "Wherever you go, there you are."

Diane walks on, pondering on the meaning of life.

Was a long day for me, I could have used a sweater in the can. It was cold in my cell, and they took all my clothes away. I missed New Years eve day at Lola's, but I'll be back tomorrow for the day. I need some sleep.

Stradee and Hoft all zenned from horsebackriding Shocked horses jumping fences keeping Stradee and Hoft focused especially upon landing, hooves planted safely ~ yoga breathing a must.

Mikey stands from Goodwill box and salutes boots as giggling woman enter Salon.

"Hi Lola ~ why's Mikey still sitting in the yard after your offer of a clean, warm, room in the Salon"? "He's begun singing in German, eyeing everyones shoes, and I beleive he's begun taking notes but writing them on Salon's walls with a spray paint can"! Oh my, maybe we should bring him to the library and ask Blatham it he'll sit with Mikey for a few hours.

Hoft receives news from next destination that new Jet sitting at her house! Not experimental, but brand new with designer interior!
"yayyyyy" everyone sings as we all wave happily!

Stradee thanks Lola for excellent hospitality, gives Withers a New Years kiss ~ he is rather adorable ~ and begins dancing with Blatham to P&L's
rendition of The Silver Bullet's Band " Let It Rock" smiling and laughing along with everyone enjoying the New Years Party.

Stradee must leave for a few days ~ waves a Happy New Year to all at Lola's ~ Wishing them much happiness

As the burly baliff forces his way past a protesting Withers, and takes possession of the new jet and makes inquiries regarding one 'Bernice Latham", Trevor waves with big sincereness to Helen and to Stradee, neither of whom he sees quite enough of.
