Actually, I think the Democrats could do a whole lot worse than to renominate Bill Clinton. He's an attractive candidate, and he has largely rehabilitated himself I think with the Electorate. Bill Clinton's personal friendship with the Senior Bush and his work for "good causes" would play well in the heartland. Bill Clinton's albotross would be his wife, and he's never shown the least willingness to gag her.

Gore in the backup position worked out reasonably well. I think folks are a little bit afraid that Gore would overthink everything, and forestall decisions that need to be made ASAP.

FYI,Bill Clinton cannot run for or become President again.
A person is only allowed to serve 2 terms as President.

Now,before the usual suspects start saying that the law means two consecutive terms, here is the 22nd amendment, which deals solely with that issue...

Amendment XXII - Presidential Term Limits. Ratified 2/27/1951. History

1. No person shall be elected to the office of the President more than twice, and no person who has held the office of President, or acted as President, for more than two years of a term to which some other person was elected President shall be elected to the office of the President more than once. But this Article shall not apply to any person holding the office of President, when this Article was proposed by the Congress, and shall not prevent any person who may be holding the office of President, or acting as President, during the term within which this Article becomes operative from holding the office of President or acting as President during the remainder of such term.

2. This article shall be inoperative unless it shall have been ratified as an amendment to the Constitution by the legislatures of three-fourths of the several States within seven years from the date of its submission to the States by the Congress.

So as you can see,Bill Clinton can never be President of the US again.

Ah yes, that fearsome, insidious Marxist vote in America. With its electoral bulwark in Chimera, BS.

I have thought about this question, and I am going to try to answer it.
Of course,I know the usual suspects will immediately attack my answer, but thats ok.

Bush has made many mistakes, and done many things I disagree with.
Things like his stance on gay marriage.
I think he is wrong.

His stance on illegal immigrants.
I think he is wrong and we should get tougher.

I dont like the fact that he hasnt cut spending like he said.
This is my biggest problem with him.
His admin is spending money like there is no tomorrow.

There are to many people in DC who's only job is to walk around and tell each other how important they are.
I thought Bush was gonna cut the size of govt and make those people get real jobs.He didnt.

There are other things, but this will do for now.

But even with all that,I still support him.

Part of that is because there is no viable alternative right now.
I have said on here what Dem I would support if he runs.

I support Bush because even though he isnt perfect, and even though he makes mistakes,he is doing what he thinks is right.
I will ALWAYS support a person that does that.
Bush pushed tax cuts through, and that helped my wallet.
He has many of the same values that I do,and many of the same beliefs that I do.

Yes,I know he has made some mistakes, but as long as he is doing what he thinks is right,I will support that.
That goes for ANY political figure,or any person at all.

You need to get up to date Asherman.

Hillary is a natural for the Marxists, Socialists and other fringe elements. Will their vote amount to much? Nope. Hillary couldn't win against Nixon's ghost in most of the country. The GOP could ask nothing better than a Hillary-Fonda ticket.

perhaps the ghost of Spiro would do as well for the republicans, ethics or intelligence not being a consideration.

Sherm you silly goose, you know as well as I do that historically speaking for the 20th century Hillary would go down as a moderate/conservative, to the right of the likes of Eisenhower. To add the label of marxist is inane at best. Nixon gave to the Chinese (red) state military secrets of the USSR miltary capabilty without the knowledge of the pentagon or the state departmart just to gain favor with the communist chinese and gained a pingpong tournment in return is essentialy corrupt even for republican standards. Sherm your standards are slipping.

Say what you will, but his "nattering nabobs of negativism" line is just as timely now as 35 years ago.

Does that matter?

Remember,Clinton is not the President.
Anything said or written about him is irrelevant, because he doesnt matter now.

And Spiro never got head in his Veep office either. Not that it would have mattered as that would have been his personal life anyway.
