Well Debra Law, what you say is not true, and you're a bullsh*t artist. I don't know what you've said, or how to explain you're a bullsh*t artist, but saying that is better than admitting utter ignorance.

I'm sure Chomsky has some credibility as a foreign policy critic when he criticized the actions of Clinton...huh McG?

Feel free to peruse the archives that preceed Bushco.world.com (yes, there was an era before Bush, and Chomsky was there), and then you can speak more intelligently about Chomsky.
Until then, you just sound like every other right wingnut who is dismissive of anyone who criticizes Bush.

Thanks candidone, but I will pass.

I will continue spouting off about what a hack Chomsky is and you can continue denying it and all the world will be in balance.

I never said that you have to agree with him, but just like I trod through most of the tripe you, Brandon and Mysteryman so frequently peddle, you should at least understand the perspective of the person you criticize.
Otherwise it's just the same 'ol baseless partisan bashing.

I never claim to be completely objective, nor do I expect it of others.
I do, however, expect that if someone wishes to criticize the opinions of others, they should, at minimum, be informed of those opinions and criticize those opinions specifically and not the individual generally.

Chomsky likes to speculate and write towards his intended audiance, the synchophants that hang on his every word as though they mean something.

He writes the US is heading towards a "failed state", that's his opinion. It's BS, but people like to believe it because they hate Bush and anything that criticizes Bush is A-OK in their book.

There is no sense in debating what he says because it doesn't matter. Those that beleive what he writes won't listen to opposing viewpoints so there is no need for me to waste my time. Chomsky writes for a living, he is good at it, far better than I.

So, I will continue accusing Chomsky of being a hack and you can continue believing he isn't.
I gotta say you have a point there McGentrix. Even I think Chomsky is a little heavy. It is definitly a pretty grim veiw for a speculation. But I do think he is very interesting. You have to give him some credit.

The point being that Chomsky represents a valid perspective, just like some of the rightwing mouthpieces that the left loves to loathe.
Though extreme and unpalatable to the masses, they do cater to a niche that has ample representation in the American political stage....and can't be ignored simply because you disagree with them.
I'd like to ignore you McG, but you present a valid perspective worth paying attention to....just like Chomsky.

I certainly agree that Chomsky has a perspective. So did John Birch! So did Alger Hiss! So did Karl Marx! So did Senator Joe McCarthy!

So what? Chomsky is a supremely gifted linguist but he is not necessarily then a supremely gifted analyist of foreign policy or of political science.

The late great chemist, Linus Pauling, won a Nobel Prize for his study of molecular structure and then apparently felt that he was therefore an expert in all other areas.

All Chomsky's predictions on the war have come true and all official information has turned out false, either a lie or just plain stupidity.

Thats the fact.

I am very sorry, Amigo, but I must have missed the "true" revelations of Noam Chomsky. Would you please be so good as to list three or four of his comments that have come true?

I really don't claim to be anywhere in the same league as the most brilliant Noam Chomsky but I did predict some things also:

l. That quite a few people would be killed in Iraq

2. That the Stock Market would break the 10,000( Dow Jones)

Now, Amigo, some of Chomsky's predictions that came true, please.

June 1, 2006 - Bush Tops List As U.S. Voters Name Worst President, Quinnipiac University National Poll Finds; Reagan, Clinton Top List As Best In 61 Years

Strong Democratic sentiment pushes President George W. Bush to the top of the list when American voters pick the worst U.S. President in the last 61 years. Bush is named by 34 percent of voters, followed by Richard Nixon at 17 percent and Bill Clinton at 16 percent, according to a Quinnipiac University national poll released today. Leading the list for best President since 1945 is Ronald Reagan with 28 percent, and Clinton with 25 percent.

President Bush is ranked worst by 56 percent of Democrats, 35 percent of independent voters and 7 percent of Republicans, the independent Quinnipiac (KWIN-uh-pe-ack) University poll finds. Best ranking for Reagan comes from 56 percent of Republicans, 7 percent of Democrats and 25 percent of independent voters. Among American voters 18 - 29 years old, Clinton leads the "best" list with 40 percent.

Among young voters, 42 percent list Bush as worst. Clinton tops the "worst" list among white Protestants - 24 percent, and white evangelical Christians - 29 percent.

Isn't that last paragraph telling. An apt description of the delusional crew.

Could you point us to these predictions? Claiming you made them after the fact doesn't exactly mean you made predictions. Do you have a time dated post where we can see these predictions before they occurred?

The post was addressed to you? You claimed you made predictions. I asked for evidence you made them before they occurred. If you can't provide that evidence just say so. Pretending you weren't asked doesn't help your case any.

Mr.Parados: You mean, of course, my post in which I said I predicted that the Dow Jones would break 10,000 and that quite a few people would be killed in Iraq.

I need some time to go through my files but when I find the data that led to those predictions, I will post it.

Thank You , sir!

I am very much afraid, Dear lady-Vietnamnurse--that you suffer from a condition that I would call "pernicous pusillanimity" which renders you unable to defend your positions. I would respectfully suggest that you try it once or twice. You may find it to be refreshing.

Allowing people you view as "wrongheaded" to pre-empt a great deal of space does not promise an auspicious future for the left wing.

I am sure that there are others who will step into the breach.
