I find this very curious. The Republicans and conservatives have always made the claim that the Democrats hate the military and would never support it. Yet here we are listening to retired generals who were in Iraq say over and over that the Bush administration would never give them the additional troops they needed to do their mission.

What is it called when you refuse to supply the requested number of soldiers to do the mission? It's called not supporting the your military.
Robert D. Blackwill, then the top Iraq adviser on the National Security Council, is said to have issued his warning about the need for more troops in a lengthy memorandum sent to Ms. Rice. The book says Mr. Blackwill's memorandum concluded that more ground troops, perhaps as many as 40,000, were desperately needed.

It says that Mr. Blackwill and L. Paul Bremer III, then the top American official in Iraq, later briefed Ms. Rice and Stephen J. Hadley, her deputy, about the pressing need for more troops during a secure teleconference from Iraq. It says the White House did nothing in response.

Note: in some areas of Iraq, that percentage in the first paragraph is 80% (according to Barry McCaffrey on Hardball last nite).

One would hope that four out of five is 80% in most areas of Iraq.... Wink

There are better people to expose the rot in the White House. Everyone in Canada knows that Keillor is a pederast. Try Woodward instead of Keillor.

The very last sort of persona he might have managed to maintain is one where left-leaning arguments are advanced in single or double sentence posts.

It takes a president of impeccable stupidity to gain as much disdain and hatred towards his nation as this ass has managed.

BERLIN -- British Foreign Secretary Margaret Beckett last week issued the latest European demand to close down the U.S. military prison at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba. The existence of the prison is "unacceptable" and fuels Islamic radicalism around the world, she said, echoing a recent chorus of complaints from Europe about U.S. counterterrorism policy.

Behind the scenes, however, the British government has repeatedly blocked efforts to let some prisoners leave Guantanamo and return home.

The worst "president" is the guy from Iraq. How you can call yourself a "democratically elected president" in a country that doesn't allow women to run for office?

See my other "Iran" thread.

But Blotham does not know that President Bush authorized the funds for the hospital which saved Blotham's life when Blotham had a heart attack.

But Blotham, being a stupid ungrateful Mountie who has deep guilt feelings about his admitted backsliding from his Mennonite childhood in Canada,is, as an outsider who has only been in the USA for a few years, not a clue about American Politics.
Go back to your igloo in Canada, Blotham, but don't forget to bring your heart pills you picked up in the USA.

So,since the US is supposedly hated by every country on earth, that means that other countries dont want their citizens returned?

Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has called Israel a "counterfeit and illegitimate regime that cannot survive", in a live broadcast on state television.

"The Zionist regime is counterfeit and illegitimate and cannot survive," he said in a speech to a crowd in the town of Islamshahr in southwestern Tehran.

"The big powers have created this fraud regime and allowed it to commit all kind of crimes to guarantee their interests," he added.

The igloos must be in the comic books you read. We have real cities with real buildings and some of the best hospitals in the world. BTW - did you know that Americans cross the border in droves trying to get the cheaper medications?
