I read you, Timberlandko. But why can some people post vicious slurs about some of our leaders? Is that kosher? Can one reply with vicious slurs against their leaders? If someone says- Killer Cheney, is it permissible to reply queer Barney Frank? if someone says--Oreo Condelezza, is it permissible to reply bigot Farrakhan?

I can be as polite as anyone but I don't think that vicious slurs against our leaders should be allowed to be made without response.

Let me know if I am not correct!!!

Public figures are fair game - Michael Jackson, George Bush, Michael Moore, or Boy George ... feel free to have at 'em pretty much as you will. Personal attacks - member-on-member nastiness - ain't kosher.

Now, if you happen to feel something said of a public person happens to be a slur, expose it for such; demonstrate that it be so.

I will do so. I will also ask the person who I respond to( I will use evidence and documentation) to rebut my post if they can.

Thank you for the insight!!

Another addendum ....

Calumny and vituperation typically reflect far more negatively on their perpetraters than their targets .. play a fools' game if you must, but bear in mind there are some very practiced fools ready to engage you at that level.

Sir: I would never indulge in calumny or vituperation now that I am aware that I may challenge those who unfairly slur national leaders.

I will merely post my evidence and ask for a rebuttal if they wish to try to rebut.

Thanks for your help!!!!

Timberlandko- I know you communicated to me in good faith, but you really must explain to me why you warned me of vituperation and calumny and have not( I assume you missed it) brought Ciceone Imposter up short for his comment--

Mele is a homophobic bigot without any knowledge to see the damage heterosexuals do to children.

I really must say this does not comport with your ideals of behavior on these threads.

Do you want to learn about Iraq and what is really happening there? You can learn from Mysteryman who served in Iraq.

you probably could as well, mele. he's been there, he knows. and yet he manages to get his point across without histrionics.

and because of that, i not only respect him, i take what he says and spend some time thinking about it. flies. sugar. vinegar. ??

It was much bruited abroad, and understandably so, that one of the main reasons for the Iraq invasion was the fact that Saddam proposed to tie his country's oil production to the Euro, and abandon the Dollar US as the main currency. This would have had a rapid detrimental domino effect on the economy of the USA, which at the moment can increase its money supply to cover its debts.

Bad career move, Saddam. But not the reason Bushco cited for the invasion.

After reading some of the passionate posts written by Snood, I was reminded of the brave and compassionate stand made by one of our greatest Americans- Muhammed Ali- a great champion and a great American when he decided that he would not kill innocent people in an unnecessary war. We need more great Americans like Muhammed Ali!

Today George Clooney came out to blame Democrats for not standing up against the war. He is correct. Every Democrat must stand up to urge an immediate withdrawal from Iraq. That should be the standard for all Democrats in the coming elections.

As Clooney points out, anything else is cowardice!!
