Look,

Your comments about pictures is bs. I read at double the speed of the ave. college grad of 50's (over 90% comprenension) and a tested vocabulary level over a phd level.

So worry about your own skills.

(Oh yea, I listen with four times higher comprehension as well.)

Noni,

Can I ask you a question, please? You seem rather, uh, irritated concerning this issue?

BTW, I support our troops and I would like to thank you for your past service to our country.

Hi Momma Angel,

Yes, I am very irritated by those who:

A. Both deny facts and refuse to learn facts.

B. Who shoot off their mouths in the freedom gotten for them, and perserved for them, by those in the military and then shoot down those in the military.

(Like they would last 5 minutes without the military.)

C. Who use that freedom to give aid and comfort to the enemy during a time of war & while our people are being wounded and killed.

And it is not only those like me who say they are giving aid and comfort, the terrorists have said so as well.

(As did the USSR during the cold war.)

D. Who are hypocrites as they would deny the people in Iraq the same freedom of speech they enjoy.

I have NO respect for them at all. To me they are lower than a snakes belly and they are scum.

Last, I thank you for your message.

That's tough tittie, nonineil, that you have such a skewed view of the opposition. I happen to think the Bush administration is scum and lower than a snake's belly, and his appologists the same.

Noni, Welcome to A2K... After reading your posts so far I hope your time here gives you the chance to grow and learn to respect opinions other than you own.

A few things you might want to start with. Don't tell other people how smart you are and how large your vocabulary is when you constantly make mistakes in spelling and grammar. Don't accuse others of not having facts just because they don't agree with your facts.

The "aid and comfort to the enemy" line is so old and hackneyed it has no meaning at this point. It is as much giving aid and comfort to accuse others of giving aid and comfort as it is to speak out about anything else. You might want to learn the real meaning of "aid and comfort" I would suggest starting with the constitution where it requires an overt act witnessed by 2 people. Surely with your large vocabulary you know what "overt" means. Speaking out against the US government is hardly an overt act of aid or comfort. Rather, it is a protected right under the 1st amendment. People are free to be as stupid as they want to here in the US. Feel free to call them stupid but don't act stupid yourself.

I didn't write this. See if you have the gumption, and the open-mindedness and intelligence, to read it.

http://news.independent.co.uk/world/americas/article350104.ece

Jeeze. get a clue!

1. When you give someone a link to a newspaper with MANY articles, you tell them WHICH article you want them to read.

It appears you don't spend much time in intelligent pursuits on the internet Neil. McT linked to a specific article. not MANY, but ONE.. You can tell it easily by reading the link. Article350104 is the specific article it links to. The person that needs to get a clue is you. McT was nice enough to give you a link to the specific article he wanted you to read. He didn't just tell you, he gave you a directions in exactly how to get there. All you had to do was click on it.

You might want to stop and think before you post in the future. Your complaint makes you look foolish since you complain about something that obviously was not what you claim it was. It certainly leads people to question your other "facts" when you can't figure out simple things like a link to a specific article is SPECIFIC.

My my only someone who is SO CLUELESS they either DENY facts or they are TOO STUPID to be able to comprehend facts would say that.

ANYONE with a WORKING brain and a suffiecent knowledge of the facts KNOWS

"Invading a country without provocation except to steal its resources shows who is the criminal."

is a TOTALLY STUPID and EXTREAMLY ASININE comment.

i'm wondering what part of your comments here actually provides any information that proves that you are correct in your assertions.

A Veteran's Letter to the President: "I Return Enclosed the Symbols of My Years of Service"
Joseph DuRocher was for 20 years the elected Public Defender of Florida's Ninth Judicial Circuit, covering Orange and Osceola counties. Since retirement, he's been writing and teaching law at the University of Central Florida and the Barry University School of Law. He was a commissioned officer in the U.S. Navy in the 1960s, serving as a Naval Aviator in the Atlantic, the Caribbean and the Mediterranean. On Monday, Mr. DuRocher returned his Lieutenant's shoulder bars and Navy wings to President Bush, and enclosed the following letter.
President George W. Bush
The White House
1600 Pennsylvania Avenue NW
Washington, D.C. 20500

Dear Mr. President:

As a young man I was honored to serve our nation as a commissioned officer and helicopter pilot in the U. S. Navy. Before me in WWII, my father defended the country spending two years in the Pacific aboard the U.S.S. Hornet (CV-14). We were patriots sworn "to protect and defend". Today I conclude that you have dishonored our service and the Constitution and principles of our oath. My dad was buried with full military honors so I cannot act for him. But for myself, I return enclosed the symbols of my years of service: the shoulder boards of my rank and my Naval Aviator's wings.

Until your administration, I believed it was inconceivable that the United States would ever initiate an aggressive and preemptive war against a country that posed no threat to us. Until your administration, I thought it was impossible for our nation to take hundreds of persons into custody without provable charges of any kind, and to "disappear" them into holes like Gitmo, Abu Ghraib and Bagram. Until your administration, in my wildest legal fantasy I could not imagine a U.S. Attorney General seeking to justify torture or a President first stating his intent to veto an anti-torture law, and then adding a "signing statement" that he intends to ignore such law as he sees fit. I do not want these things done in my name.

As a citizen, a patriot, a parent and grandparent, a lawyer and law teacher I am left with such a feeling of loss and helplessness. I think of myself as a good American and I ask myself what can I do when I see the face of evil? Illegal and immoral war, torture and confinement for life without trial have never been part of our Constitutional tradition. But my vote has become meaningless because I live in a safe district drawn by your political party. My congressman is unresponsive to my concerns because his time is filled with lobbyists' largess. Protests are limited to your "free speech zones", out of sight of the parade. Even speaking openly is to risk being labeled un-American, pro-terrorist or anti-troops. And I am a disciplined pacifist, so any violent act is out of the question.

Nevertheless, to remain silent is to let you think I approve or support your actions. I do not. So, I am saddened to give up my wings and bars. They were hard won and my parents and wife were as proud as I was when I earned them over forty years ago. But I hate the torture and death you have caused more than I value their symbolism. Giving them up makes me cry for my beloved country.

Joseph W. DuRocher

Cicerone Imposter- I don't know which garbage can Blueflame goes to to get such trash. I can tell you one thing. You may think the letter is good but no one else does. If the writer was so persuasive, you would think he was be most pesuasive in his own territory- Orange and Osceola Counties in Florida.

If you know Florida, as I do, you know that Orange and Osceola Counties are in the seventh and fifteenth districts of Florida. Those districts are presently being occupied by Reps. Mica-REPUBLICAN and Res. Weldon-REPUBLICAN.

Du Rocher, who may at this time be going into Dementia, apparently cannot convince the people in his OWN AREAS.

As I said, Blueflame finds garbage in garbage cans!!!

mele, The problemn with you republicans is your inability to separate patriotism of the right with patriotism of the left.

People that speak out against Bush and this administration are pinkos and communists, and know nothing about the Constitution and the Bill of Rights.

mele:

- How do you figure that? There are at least as many people who like the letter as don't, just on this thread.

But since your ilk seems to brush aside the stats that show Bush's war more and more unpopular among larger and larger constituencies, I guess we shouldn't expect you to be able to see something just as clear, on a smaller scale.

If Bush had any honour or any sense of decency, he would return the vereran's wings and bars, apologise, and resign.

But he will not because he is an arse.
