Thanks, Walter and Poet.
In the meantime, have a look at the
Gold Dust Orphans troupe. I, too, would be a gold dust orphan if i act with them (still trying not to jinx anything) here...
Yeah well done Dag...Where's the show?
It's in Boston. They have their own bar, Machine, which has a big downstairs space - stage is there.
Boston Lincs or Boston MA?
well done young lady, and can I be the first to ask for your autograph?
ooooh, i'm blushing. sure. then again, we should still wait for the email from them confirming my part in the show. i mean, they were all excited and all, but i don't want to be presumptuous.
Are they going to return your towel?
ok keeping fingers crossed for you
Fantastic news woman!
<< jumping up and down, squealing >>
shhhhhh. must get email first!!!
<thanks, i'm squealing too!>
Well I looked at the website and they don't finish the auditions today until 6pm. To be fair they have to see everyone before they start sending out emails, so you might not hear from them today. Tomorrow we will all be on tenderhooks waiting .... however we KNOW you got it!
When you get it, you become a member of The Gold Dust Orphans and does that mean you get dibs on parts in future shows they put together?
Rule #1 Never assume you have the part until they tell you
Rule #2 If 4 grown men squeal when you tell them you tap dance, assume you have a part.
i know. they'll email over the weekend.
yep, i do get dibs. AND free tickets! and a nickname! weeeeee!
nickname?
PROJECT !!!!!!!
We need to start thinking up names for our dag.
Daggie is too suburban.
Dagmaster is too underground.
Maracca (or Marakka?) is too Carmen Miranda.
<thinking...>
Dag, I completely concur with parados' Rule #2. You're in. If they weren't sure, they would have been much more vague about getting back to you (and there would have been no squealing).
Congratulations!!
(Have you said WHICH song you ended up singing...?)
Yes, I think so too. I mean, I started having doubts only 3 or 4 hours later. When I left, I left convinced I am in... then I started thinking of course and am just a bit superstitious right now to fully rejoice just yet.
I also realized that one of the main squealing guys was Ryan Landry himself (it is his theater company) - and he accompanied me himself upstairs to the door and told me he'll be seeing me real soon. So I suppose that sounds good, eh?
Nicknames? I do like Dagglepuss that bunny made up for me -seems fitting for this sort of a production.
I am sure they will think of something worthy as well, they seem to be way into it. Their nicknames are usually two words - they go all out on nicknames. They have names like Jiffy Lube, Olive Another, Penny Champagne, there was also one Dagmar Somethingoranother (forget the last name, but they also squealed about my name because of this...)
In any case, if and when it's confirmed and official, I'll start another thread and will try to blog from rehhearsals, take pictures and all.
