Hi. I am interested in learning how to voice act professionally for my own cartoons, and I am a bit curious about this.
Do work-from-home and/or freelance voice acting jobs exist?
I don't know if pro voice actors, like the ones that work in Hollywood in film and TV animation, commercials, and on other projects, such as video games, freelance or not, but I know many voice characters for various different studios. I don't know if they are contractually-bound or not when they work for more than one studio.
Can you work from home as a voice actor, for non-indie projects, or are you required to work on site at studios for regular projects?
Can you work from home as a voice actor if you are freelancing?
How does freelance voice acting work?
Do work-from-home and/or freelance voice acting jobs pay a lot?
Please help- thank you.
@JGoldman10,
I work for a company where we work with voice actors. They live wherever they do. We don't require them to come in.
I have no idea what they make, and I'm not about to ask (as that would be rude). I believe we hired at least one of them through Upwork.
@jespah,
Okay- why would that be rude? What is "Upwork"?
Because it's not polite to ask people what they make.
Upwork is upwork.com. It's a jobs site.
