that was an interesting group of guys she was auditioning for. if they gave her a part, they probably liked her and are taking her around town. we may not hear from her for several days!

We won't hear from her for 2 months. Rehearsals, memorizing all those lines, drinks with the boys after rehearsals, then the opening night, opening night party, post opening night party party, second night, waiting for the reviews, drinking to celebrate or forget the reviews, the long run, matinees, drinking every night after the show, the hand cramps from signing all the autographs, until finally closing night, then the closing night party.

It might be 3 months by the time she recovers.

so yes, i got it. don't know "what" i got exactly yet, but i'm in the play. and i know i will be doing some solo singing (a surprise to me, really) - they liked 'the tone of my voice', and i'll be tapdancing along with the 3 or 4 other people in the troupe that can tap dance. i may even box on stage....
phone calls, phone calls.... more later.

Is there anything you can't do ?

yes. i can't play tennis for the devil. although i tremendously enjoy myself when i do try.

......now, maybe i'm overthinking....but i guess they still have to email me to confirm or something. although they were jumping with joy when i said i tapdanced...and boxed... and the voice guy liked my voice. apparently i'm a deep alt that goes all the way to the falsetto. whatever the heck that means.

so they said - amongst themselves, that i could be a lead slave, leading a procession or whatnot - that would mean singing and dancing, solo as well ()... or a warrior (they said that when i informed them i'd like to still have time to go to my boxing trainings).
one of them said they will email me about free tickets to their current show, so that i can see what they do and about rehearsal times.
other said that they are auditioning for two days and will email everybody. that was the voice guy...
i am most likely just overthinking, but don't want to jinx anything. it sure sounded like they want me, but i should wait till i have an official piece of a paper in my hand to cry it into the world over loudspeaker, i suppose.

Oh. Just so you know how it went... I sang first, and jpin (or was it patio?) was right: stage fright can be good! my voice never sounded better really. I was thinking: "What is that? THat's not me! I can't sing like that!" And I didn't think about lyrics or melody, wasn't controling it with my brain and it still sang. Kinda like when you walk and you start thinking about it, you look down at your legs and see them moving, one goes in front of the other and you realize you're not manouvring them at all! they just go of their own! eh, maybe that's just me...

then the voice guy pulled me to a piano where i tried out some variations with him so that he can see what my range is...

then they asked if i danced. so i said yes, i did four years of modern dance. they asked if i did any martha graham or merce cunningham stuff? yes i did. then i mentioned i also tap danced for four years. now at this point all four of them jumped up, squealed, and were all around me. so i showed them a bit - though i had high heeled boots and was clumsy in them.

the last bit was most awkward. i had to read from the script (by now there were 4-5 other people looking on) as dramatically as i could (and as loud as possible). text was something like this: "Help! Help! Save me from this man who calls himself Caesar! He's an animal! An absolute beast! He had me on my back seven times and now he wants me standing up! I can't take it anymore! I just can't take it!"

Yeah. I left completely drained, but all giddy and excited. I do hope I am indeed in. Should be a lot of fun.
