If we didn't have a few really smart "Blue Meanies" life would be so boring.

Good Morning, Mr. Setanta!

How are you this fine day, sir Question I hope all is well with you and yours.

You thought that was refreshing? Oh, I am so glad! I hope it made you smile! Laughing

Oh Mr. Setanta, do you think I actually go up to people and start preaching? Oh my goodness no! Mr. Setanta, when you do that, people think you are crazyhttp://www.techhelpers.net/e4u/aliens/hae28.gif. We are just all having some discussions on a public forum. I think there is a big difference here, don't you?

And, if I am discussing the Lord with someone in person and they start to get angry, offensive, etc., I stop.http://users.telenet.be/eforum/emoticons4u/love/663.gif That's what the Bible says I should do, so I do.

I am sorry you think some of the things I say are idiotic Crying or Very sad . But, I am even sorrier that you get enjoyment from ithttp://users.pandora.be/eforum/emoticons4u/sad/1346.gif. I don't like to hurt people's feelings. It makes me feel bad when I do.http://users.pandora.be/eforum/emoticons4u/sad/1393.gif

Oh Mr. Setanta, that "Let's Duke it Out Thread" title was a punhttp://users.pandora.be/eforum/emoticons4u/happy/050.gif! I didn't mean to actually get mad and have a fight! Mr. Setanta, you just tell me who thinks you are the original blue meaniehttp://users.telenet.be/eforum/emoticons4u/mad/011.gif and I will have a talk with them.

You have a great day, Mr. Setanta!http://web4.ehost-services.com/el2ton1/heart.gif

One quick comment and then I am off to party.

MA, do you really think that your post is any more polite or courteous than anything Setanta may have said? If you do, then I suggest you give it some more thought.

Mesquite,

I have told you and I have told Mr. Setanta, I feel no anger toward him. I am meeting his posts with humor and lightheartedness. If you do not accept that, ok. I know what is in my heart and so does the Lord. That is what matters.

squinney,

I am not going to assume which you think rings more true. But, I was just thinking and I wasn't going to reply anymore than what I had said about why I am doing Mr. Setanta's posts the way I do, but I decided I would.

Yes, the first few I did were meant to annoy him. I laughed at them, yes. I was sick and tired of the derogatory words he kept posting about my beliefs and my God. But, after a few posts, I realized I wasn't angry anymore. That anger was just gone.

From what I have gathered from Mr. Setanta's posts, he has obviously had has bad experiences with religion. So, I can fully understand how he might feel. Through these posts and the questions I ask, I have gotten to understand why some feel the way they do about religion. And, I can't blame a one of you for it. My frustration comes into play when me and others try to tell you that is NOT what we believe Christianity to be. It seems to fall on deaf ears. This is very frustrating for me.

I am constantly being told how a Christian should act. Well, when I adjust my attitude in my posts I am then called a hypocrite. There seems to be no middle ground with some of you.

And when I told Mr. Setanta that I am saddest of all because he gets enjoyment out of belittling my beliefs, I mean it. I am sad because if I thought that I actually had the right (whether legal or morally) to treat anyone like that, I wouldn't think much of myself. So yes, it saddens me.

It saddens me whenever anyone belittles anyone for what they believe. When I made a remark in the Muslim thread about their prophet and I was called on it, I had to take a good long hard look at myself. I went back and apologized for that because I WAS WRONG! (For emphasis only.)

So, I try to pick out the things in Mr. Setanta's posts that I can turn into a positive instead of a negative. I am doing my best to remain lighthearted and humorous. Some may find it humorous and some may not. But, I know that it is helping me to not be angry. If I can do something to keep from being angry at someone then that is what I will do. Until I can get myself to the point that I can read some of these posts without anger at all, those Smileys are helping me tremendously.

I am a Christian. I am not perfect. I make plenty of mistakes and when I recognize them I try to atone for them the best way I know how.

Whatever ya gotta do, MA.

Just wish you were comfortable enough with your point of view (and us) to be yourself. If anyone wants to judge, they'll judge. You can't stop that here or anywhere else.

And, that's all I've got to say about it.

squinney,

I appreciate that. It's not you, believe me, my anger is one of my character flaws. I am a redhead! Really am, but that's not why I get angry. It's something I am working on.

Let's face it guys.....Christians can be overbearing a--holes with others.

I have been and I feel like I have at times caused more harm than good in presenting my faith to others.

Your character flaw momma is alot of people's including mine. I also like to be right all the time and argue. Sometimes I try demean others and as a result demean myself.

I don't know what to say.......

I feel like sh!t. I never wanted to war against anybody here...but I did.

I also know we Christians cannot make peace with everyone either.

Some might hate us no matter what. That's not our problem if we are doing right in God's sight.....right?

I'm talking about myself here obviously.....I came to these forums seeking like minded individuals regarding Jesus and ended up just spouting off at the mouth like an idiot.

I have been emotional lately because.......

I can't say here but...........it's hard. I can't duke anything out when God has his finger pointed at me.

Bartikus,

I don't have to be right. There are certain things that I believe I am right on and will not change my mind about, true. But, in these cases, I can just agree to disagree.

Hey, Bartikus
Nobody on a2k hates you for the simple act of being a Christian. We non believers hate the acts of many Christians, but don't hold a grudge for the act of not agreeing with us. I went beyond the bounds of argument on here a few times, but when I did, I owned up to it. Now, let's shake hands and come out (once again) figuratively duking it out.

Thanks edgar.

I hate some of the acts of others including Christians. I hate the terrible acts and mean spirit I tend to display the most. When someone is being mean spirited towards you....it's just easy to adopt that same spirit sometimes.

I don't want to hurl hatred and insults at people. I want something entirely different. I want to be able to give kindness even in the face of the unkindness that tends to affect us all at times.

If I want things to get better in this world.....I guess it starts with me.

Duking things out with Love.....seems to be a highly underestimated strength. I know returning hate for hate or insult for insult(eye for an eye) rarely makes anything better...but worse for everyone.

I'd say it makes us blind in more ways than one. Jesus knew what he was saying.
