It's downright summer in here parts. We're getting a new heater and adding air conditioning to our abode next Thursday-Friday, after we've lived here for over thirty years.

from the eastern end of lake ontario : it has been getting nice and warm, reached as high as 22 C. warm rain - lots of it - must be coming over from toronto - tulips and daffodils (and some other bulbs, their name i can never remember) are flowering - lawn needs to be cut ! since we are very close to the lake - about half a mile - i hope the frost will stay inland. it's definitely too early to set out any "delicate" plants - tomatoes and zuccinis can't be planted until victoria day weekend - old canadian farmers' wisdom. hbg

Scilla, pronounced squill.
They're blooming here as well.

One of the bigger garden centre companies is closing down. I picked up two clematis today. Now, I need to wait for the ground to dry just a bit before I put them in.

Well, here it's very cloudy. Some German institutes and our main state radio wanted to present all this http://213.168.103.166:8008/www/static/teleskop/mondfinsternistotal400q.jpg
live in the internet, but .... (NOW I can see nothing at all: since the total lunar eclipse will happen in 15 mins, everyone wants to be on this site Crying or Very sad )

lunar eclipsing as we speak - just the tiniest sliver of moon left. I can see it from here! But it doesn't look like Walter's pic - rather a black sky and just a pinpoint of light. Mind you - it is 5.50am!

Absolutely beautiful weather here in Florida ... dry and cool ... no air conditioning needed!

I could take this all year 'round ... no problemo!
