Thanks, Panzade, for setting this thread up. We have done this on A2K for several years now - going back to 2009!
It looks now as if Chantal if following a typical path for a storm: Haiti and Cuba etc before heading up the East Coast later in the week.
Yeah, I started the first hurricane thread (as far as I know)in August 2004 when Wilma and Frances kicked my butt.
I'm not working a day job now so I thought I'd have more time to tend this little thread.

This new (almost a T.S.) Chantal is going to sheared apart before it hits Miami. It's off the Antilles now. Bad conditions exist (dry air and shearing) for it to develop into anything beyond more than a lot of rain. That is the big threat to the mainland.
Forecast (high end programs) for Friday looks promising for your side of the FL coast. Saturday, not so much. If you were on my side of the coast, I'd grab some friends and hit that tiki bar and heckle ... I mean provide loud cheering and applause.
