no longer "arschkalt" here ! outright balmy - 8 C / 48 F. the ground is still frozen, but i've started to open up the layer of leaves on the flower beds. large flocks of canada geese flying across the sky on their way north (so we hope; they can be quite a pest when they start hanging around). hbg

It was at least 10 degrees C. here in eastern Massachusetts today. A prototypical Spring day of sunshine and clear skies. (I thought for a moment I had been teleported to some other latitude, not used to this stuff.)

For the first time in a week it is not raining on the volcano. There is plenty of snow on Mauna Loa and Mauna Kea - skiable.

On the slopes of Mt. Kiluea even rain is beautiful, Seaglass. Half the time it's a cloud that you're walking through at that 4,000 ft. altitude.

Came back from Garmisch-Partenkirchen yesterday. It was snowing on our way down there on Friday and not a lot of fun to drive. Yesterday it was absolutely beautiful. Blue skies and the mountains and TONS of snow!

Today it's spring again in Balingen. And two more weeks to go till Florida! :-)

We had had some really lovely spring days this week:

http://www.derpatriot.de/grafik/archiv/hires/29106887.jpg

Today (the pic is from yesterday, in today's newspaper) it is rainingsometimes, rather warm (now, nearly 10 am local time, 13° C) with sunny intervalls.

Flowers are blossoming "like hell" (magnolias in full blossom, even rhododendrons have started since some days).

Walter, how lovely! It must be a lot warmer there than it is here in Balingen. No magnolias - the only thing in bloom are the yellow ones - Forsythien (or something like that) in German. I'm sure you know what I mean...

Today it is cloudy and supposed to rain a bit but I spent my lunch break outside in the sun on Thursday and Friday!

Today here was sunny. And rainy. And windy, And then sunny again. Changeable, you might say. Kurz gesagt, wechselhaft.

Rolling Eyes Snow fluffies floating down outside my window (luckily) here in beautiful New Yawk.

Wind, rain, sun, sleet and lots and lots of dark grey clouds. Don't you just love April weather in Germany?

One more week to go... Keep that clear weather going, Misti!
