It is definitely weather.

My TV just started beeping, and this just scrolled across my TV screen:
Extreme wind damage expected. These thunderstorms produce winds at 70 mph, which can overturn vehicles and mobile homes. TAKE COVER NOW. If you see large hail or wind damage, call ------- after the storm passes....

I never saw TAKE COVER NOW.

Dogs are in kitchen. Boy, my house smells. I think it's their breath.

The warning is just for my county... This is odd. It's really windy, but I've been in much worse... Maybe it'll dissipate.

All OK, dearie.

If the time limit the National Weather Service set was right, it passed us. I've been sort of glued to the Weather Channel.

Son is putting dogs out as we speak, except for Jack, who cleared the fence with the first thunder roll a couple of hours ago. He'll have to stay inside tonight, until his blood pressure comes down.

Seems like some similar weather is expected across the USA breadbasket this weekend. Wishing everyone safety.

Thank you for concern, Rae. Very Happy

Southeast GA, misti. They said the really bad advisory was lifted, but thunder just rumbled my foundation.

When me babes were smaller, I used to pile their mattresses in the hallway (center of house) and I would tell them stories until the weather passed. Gosh, those are good memories. They were so brave.

A#1 son, me and ex have very fond memories of hiding out in the guest bathroom (center of the house) with pillows, blankets, radio, flashlights, snacks and bottled water......

I'm very happy ya'll are okay.

Sophia, they were so brave because you were their comfort!

It's funny, how thunderstorms scare us as kids, but as adults we know they're not so threatening.

Yeah, it was a gorgeous day......never mind that it was somewhat ruined because of the refrigerator delivery ~ which has been rescheduled for yet another day.....

Tomorrow had better be nice ~ I've got a bar-b-que to go to in honor of my late boss, Bill Solomon ~ the greatest general manager that ever lived. He is truly missed. Crying or Very sad

Thank you Vivien ... I'm glad you're having some sunshine now, because things don't seem so bleak when the sun is shining!

Don't forget your Sunscreen girl ... I hear that French rays are very powerful:)

Hi, I'm back after some computer problems...
The tornados in the mid-west must have been brutal. I've never seen one of those. Have any of y'all?
Not quite weather but, last week there was a bit of an earthquake in KY or GA (?). This morning we had one in central VA, about 30 miles SW of Richmond. 3.9 on the Richter, which sounds big. My understanding, though, is that a 5.0 is 100 times stronger than a 4.0 and a 6.0 is 100 times stronger than a 5.0 etc so this was really nothing...except a portent of things to come, perhaps. -realjohnboy-
