HAPPY NEW YEAR! Well, we have sunshine on the first day of this year. What can we expect, especially in a town called Sunnyvale? After all, this is the "Golden State." Wink c.i.

Rainy, foggy and in the 40s today in the Boston area.

We're getting ready for our 3rd snow storm of the season.

Aren't we lucky? Drunk

It was grey, overcast and cool this morning-then we had a shower-then the clouds pulled back. It is very hot in the sun right now.

It's 60 degrees now, the sky is blue, but it is a bit breezy. I think that the temperature is going down tonight!

A European re-view, copied from DW-world.de:

" Winter weather wreaks havoc across Europe, nearly 200 dead in Poland

Violent weather wreaked havoc across Europe Friday, with nearly 200 people freezing to death in Poland, two killed by storms in Germany and floods threatening several European countries. Most of the victims of Poland's bitterly-cold winter were men who died of hypothermia after drinking heavily and falling sleep outside, police said. Floods washed out parts of southern Belgium and mud-slides shut down 20 rail lines in the Czech republic. .Along rivers in Germany, makeshift sandbag barriers were built to defend towns and houses, but the Rhine continued to rise near the western city Cologne, threatening to spill into the old city center by Saturday. In Italy, a third of Venice was flooded. "

Well, at least it's not a dull, dark, and soundless day in the autumn of the year, when the clouds hang oppressively low in the heavens.

What it is here, it's a dull, dark and not-so-soundless say in the winter of the year, when the clouds threaten to start dumping a whole lotta snow on us.

Think I'll go back to bed.

Verra cold in central Florida tonight, and windy too! But, sunny and bright today, and unless you went outside you wouldn't know the difference.

El Nino, bah bah!

Raining here. too. We were promised as much as a foot of snow, but -- as usuaL -- the wonderful New England meteorologists seem to have got the types of precipitation confused in their pointy little heads.

Apparently when I woke up this morning, the temperature then was our high.....it went downhill from there!

Once again, Mom's end of the house is closed up......my windows are wide open welcoming the cold air......Supposed to go down to 30 (f) tonight. Happy girl!
