Piffka, the Keys are beautiful, aren't they? So quaint and historic ... that was a good, long visit girl!

It is a little bit chilly here in NE Fl
My feet are cold, and I need to put
my socks on, that will no doublt solve
THAT, but I could not believe how
much colder (BRR) it was in South
Carolina's at my daughter's. Frigid.
How could I ever move back up
north again???I have gone and lost
all my resistance to the cold, and the
wind that freezes the insides of your
nose, not to mention your toes. Laughing

Babs, I know exactly what you mean ... are you saying you may be moving back up north?

As warm as it was today, now it's 5:50 pm and already I feel the chill in the air, another cold front moving in ... I've got my favorite wooly socks on and sweats ... what did we ever do without them?

I remember that nearly everything in St. Augustine seemed to be N.America's oldest something or 'nother. What I liked was the deserted beach south of town, where we pulled off with our truck, and in the morning watched dolphins jumping in the multi-colored surf of dawn. That's what I remember!

I remember the fort a little, it was smaller than I expected and amazingly pristine (thank you National Park Service). It was a nice town, but what was significant to me was the dawn.

c.i. and Piffka ~ the fort has been undergoing serious renovations for the last two years.....and they're not done yet. It's a huge project.

The south beaches are very nice, Piffka.....There is an out-of-the-way restaurant that serves only breakfast and lunch.....right on the beach, outdoor seating and a fabulous view.....I'm struggling to remember the name of it. It's not even in the guide books.....It'll come to me.

The tornados where quickly followed by bright sun and the most beautiful double rainbow I ran all the way to Frisco trying to find that pot of gold.

Well, it looks like Mother Nature is going to bring our very own display of fireworks this evening. Severe thunder and lightning, rain and wind moving in.

Happy New Year!

As of right now, it's 78F, winds at 20 mph, gusting to 28.

As the sun tries to come up on New Year's Day, there's a bit of cloud in the pink sky to the east, but the western sky is laden with black cloud. Warm, about 75F at 5.30am, and rain forecast for New Years Day. Perhaps we'll get some decent rain this year.

Happy New Year, all!!!

c.i. ~ either Amici's or Fratelli's.....but I've been to neither. As my luck goes though, you probably visited an out-of-the-way place that no one knows about.....the best in my book!

(I'm still trying to remember the breakfast/lunch restaurant that goes so unnoticed.....)

Rae- What's doing in "your end of town". Last night the thunder and lightning was so bad that I couldn't keep my computer on! Crying or Very sad It rained like it was never going to stop. I think that we have a leak coming out of a skylight.

Hiya, Phoenix. We had a good steady rain from early evening till the wee hours. We needed it though.....as usual.

Quite warm today, but a really nice wind is blowing and the sun is shining. (There goes the Ron Jon's banner plane along the beach.....50 to 80% off everything in the store!)
