No, drought is no fun! But far worse for the farmers in the country than us folk in the big cities here in Oz. It's something like year 5 of it now. Poor people, poor farm animals, poor wildlife ... What can you say?
Msolga, we in Florida know exactly what you mean.
It was 5 or 6 years ago we had all the brush fires here, lasted forever and we thought it would never end. People lost their homes, farms, everything. Tourists decided to reschedule their trips, afraid of the outcomes because the highways were so badly obscured with the smoke.
We are still doing our raindances for you ... is it helping at all?
Phoenix, that is too funny, heaters in an outdoor restaurant!
What will they think of next!
40 to 50 degrees 'F' I presume you're talking about.
Wilso, that's right.
It's cold here but not the cold you feel up north in New York where it's also wet and windy.
Us Floridians are spoiled, but then again, that's why we're here.
misti26--
Paddy must not have clearly stated the Bill Of Cat's Rights. It's the First Amendment-- No cat shall suffer wetness at a human's hands.
You are in thick soup with Catdom.
(Also, there's the part about noisy objects being within ten yards...The blowdryer is a no-no.)
LG: You're absolutely right. I would be quite willing to blow dry him, but he runs like hell at the sound of the thing!
The funny thing about the water is, he seems to like it. When I water the plants he can't get close enough to the drips ... he's really strange:)
Yah gotta love 'im!

You won't believe this - & I swear I'm not making it up - but it just started to rain here as I read your rain dance message!
Thanks for the dance!
It has been sticky & humid & nasty all day. My 3 cats have been complaining & refusing to eat for most of the day. Now Tuxedo Cat has come in to complain about getting wet out there! Will he never be satisfied?
Misti26- I lived in NY for most of my life. I think that when you move to a different climate, your body adjusts to it, after awhile. Now, any temperature under 60 degrees (Farenheit, Wilso) seems very cold to me.
The forecasters have another drenching planned for us. c.i.
Sheeeesh! MsOlga
Couldn't you have kept the rain off for just another day! We need a result in the cricket! I've devoted most of the holiday period to watching it, down the coast. Don't let it peter out to a draw on day 5, now!
We;ve got about the same temps as you Floridians today -- 44 F. Bloomin' heat-wave! Snow's melting like crazy.
We are now up to a balmy sixty two degrees!
BYW, Abuzz seems to be down again.
MA, That was predictable when I called it quits about a month or so ago. c.i.
So what else is new????
I believe we sent you that bit of warming, Andy. If so, just hang in there, lad, it gets even better. 52 and sunny here today and it's supposed to climb slowly even overnight, reaching 59 by 6:00 a.m. tomorrow and on up to 65 by mid-morning. But alas, the clouds and rain are then slated to arrive, and it'll be back to the 30's on New Year's Day, with, drat-the-luck, more wintry mix.
So carpe diem is very much the watch-word.
BTW, have ya found your truck yet, or are you still toolin' around in the Ugo pedal-pusher?
It's 73 F/23 C here with winds gusting to 24 mph (sorry can't do the Kph!) - very windy! Supposed to rain cats and dogs tonight and tomorrow...
Debacle -- Weren't you just in a snow storm???
Guess what, Rae? We had clear skies here most of the day!
Yahooweeee. Lovely to see that blue!
It is 45F here, the warmest it has been all day. Brrrrrrrrrrrrrr
I spect that's what we in southern Indiana will be getting out of Houston tomorrow, with 25 mph winds outta the SW and T-storms tomorrow night.
