@Ragman,
Yes we do need the rain! its really hitting hard here right now, it doesn't bother out dogs, I think they are getting use to it, all three of them are asleep in their crates.

We had our first tropical storm last week, the worse I've seen so far. I saw two cars floating down fifth avenue.

@Sloan,
And we’re having another one now, thunder, lightning and heavy rain but warm enough to run around the backyard naked. Razz

@EqualityFLSTPete,
Rain water destroys the skin, there are so many cemetery sending chemicals in it. I suppose if you get enough acid rain on you, it would qualify itself as an acid peel.

Acid peels are good for you, gets rid of all the dead skin Smile

I believe that is true. I read a story once in the local paper where a guy was struck by lightning while standing on his front porch and the lightning wasn’t even close to his house in fact it was five miles away!

@EqualityFLSTPete,
In Sarasota we had our thunderstorm in early and mid afternoon. Heavy downpour around 2-3 pm or so with a few rumbles and flashes. Off and on for most of the day and early evening but it is settled down now. Cleared up...and parking lot is nearly dry. Seeing flashes to the north.

@Ragman,
I just noticed you're in Sarasota, not too far south of us! It wasn't too bad this evening, already settled down. but this came across St. Pete this evening.

@Ragman,
Only in Fla. I remember doping some drilling in the Phosphate fields when we had a quickie summer storm. We got about 6" in half an hour and you could not even see a foot infront of you. There I was standing on a sinkhole with water rushing in like a sewer drain. Boy that got my attention. I thought wed lose our rig.

before anybody else sez it.

But I doid lose my apatite

@EqualityFLSTPete,
Hi! I know you're a friend of JCBoy and his new hubby. Nice to meet you. Seen some of your posts.

Yeah! when it gets going the parking lots start to run over like a river down the middle. The drains can't keep ahead of it.

Weird little micro-climate zones here. It's funny how the t-storms happen here. Even though you're only about 45 mins north, you can have storms that don't affect us (and vice verasa). We can see them traveling your way or see the flashes from the lightning and our sky can be totally clear. Gotta love it.

@roger,
I keep my putters (I have my dad's) by the fireplace, which I don't use either.
