Here's video of the snow storm crossing the middle of New Mexico today. We had about an inch and a half here on the west side of ABQ before it got washed away by rain. Eastward, they've gotten close to a foot of snow near the TX border.

There are dense fog warnings for tonight and tomorrow as the storm moves eastward.

Since six weeks we've got now snow, and temperatures went down to .20°C on a couple of days during that time, too.

We don't live in Canada!!!

I think we are the only part of Germany with just a little bit of snow. And it is not really cold, either. Good!

@hamburgboy,
The snowstorm working its way east will come through VA and NC starting tonight. If it runs as projected, the area along the state line could get 12" or so while we in Cville will get 4-6" perhaps. If it wobbles a bit to the north we could get more. It should stop Sunday evening. Maybe, I hope, it will wobble south and we will end up with nothing.
As always happens here ahead of a predicted snow event, the grocery stores are jam packed with panic-stricken shoppers.

And, yes, Roger, I am on the east side of the Blue Ridge mountains of VA.

@urs53,
Kaiserslautern? I was there for a couple of hours. Hardly the most friendly people I met in the country?

@urs53,
My bro is career Air Force. They have had several tours in Germany over the years, live in a small village and speak fluent German and French.
They love it there and thought about staying after retirement. But he did say that they "always felt that they were outsiders."
And yes, they have had lots of snow plus an ice storm last Tuesday (his birthday).

@realjohnboy,
That's great, most of the Americans I see there act like they are in the US. I like it when one tries to speak the local language.

Actually, we had had winters like this here (we live in a really flat part of the country, but with a mountain [popular skiing region especially for the Dutch] just 20 miles away] as a normality until some decades ago, though not as cold as last and this year.

Until the late 60's, early 70's canals were iced every year - this happened this year for the very first time since 20 years again. (In 1970, in the navy, we couldn't leave the port of Cuxhaven on the Elbe river/North Sea due to ice for three weeks.)
