That's okay, spendius, I can live without snow and the
publicity surrounding it. We had a record 86 F yesterday.

I once had 128 F for a whole month. With a dust storm to cheer us up.I like girls all wrapped up with scarves and bob hats on sledging and screaming and their little eyes sparkling.Doesn't heat render girls less mysterious?

No! Being mysterious has nothing to do with clothes.

eastern lake ontario weather forecast

we'll blame it on oklahoma !
-----------------------------------------------------------
Freezing rain warning for:
Kingston - Prince Edward

SIGNIFICANT FREEZING RAIN LIKELY THURSDAY. THIS IS A WARNING THAT AN EXTENDED PERIOD OF FREEZING RAIN IS IMMINENT OR OCCURRING IN THESE REGIONS. MONITOR WEATHER CONDITIONS..LISTEN FOR UPDATED STATEMENTS.
A WINTER STORM FROM OKLAHOMA IS MOVING TOWARDS SOUTHERN ONTARIO. AS THE STORM CENTRE INTENSIFIES AND MOVES NORTHEAST TOWARDS THE GREAT LAKES..AN EXPANDING AREA OF FREEZING RAIN LIKELY PRECEDED BY A PERIOD OF SNOW WILL MOVE INTO SOUTHWESTERN PARTS OVERNIGHT THEN RAPIDLY SPREAD NORTHEAST TO THE GOLDEN HORSESHOE AREA BY THURSDAY MORNING. THE FREEZING RAIN AREA WILL CONTINUE TO WORK ITS WAY NORTHEAST INTO SKI COUNTRY AND EASTERN ONTARIO THURSDAY..REACHING THE NATIONAL CAPITAL AREA BY EVENING. SEVERAL HOURS OF FREEZING RAIN RESULTING IN ICE ACCRETION AMOUNTS OF 5 TO 10 MM ARE LIKELY ACROSS MOST OF THE DISTRICT. THERE IS POTENTIAL FOR AN EVEN MORE PROLONGED PERIOD OF FREEZING RAIN FOR NORTHEASTERN LOCALES..PARTICULARLY THE OTTAWA VALLEY WHERE ICE ACCRETION OF 10 MM OR MORE IS POSSIBLE. MOTORISTS AND PEDESTRIANS SHOULD EXERCISE EXTREME CAUTION AND ADJUST TRAVEL PLANS ACCORDINGLY. UNTREATED SURFACES WILL QUICKLY BECOME ICY AND SLIPPERY RESULTING IN DANGEROUS WINTER TRAVEL CONDITIONS. THIS STORM WILL LIKELY HAVE A MAJOR IMPACT ON THE MORNING RUSH HOUR IN SOUTHERN ONTARIO AND THE EVENING RUSH HOUR FOR EASTERN ONTARIO LOCALES. THE FREEZING RAIN WILL CHANGE OVER TO RAIN OVER SOUTHWESTERN ONTARIO THURSDAY MORNING AS A WARM FRONT FROM THE STORM CENTRE MOVES THROUGH AND PUSHES THE MERCURY WELL ABOVE THE ZERO DEGREE MARK. THIS WARM FRONT IS EXPECTED TO WORK ITS WAY THROUGH THE KITCHENER - HAMILTON AND TORONTO AREAS BY EARLY AFTERNOON THEN INTO SKI COUNTRY AND EASTERN ONTARIO LATER IN THE DAY THURSDAY. THE WARM FRONT MAY NOT REACH THE OTTAWA VALLEY UNTIL WELL INTO THURSDAY NIGHT RESULTING IN A PROLONGED PERIOD OF FREEZING RAIN THERE. PLEASE REFER TO THE LATEST PUBLIC FORECASTS FOR FURTHER DETAILS.

eastern lake ontario :
we had freezing rain overnight, followed by rain and high winds this morning, some trees in the neighbourhood got blown over, while the trees on our cornerlot were whipped quite a bit, they withstood the stormy weather.
it's now quite sunny but we have been warned of a 'flashfreeze' overnight with a low of about minus 15 C.
just 50 miles to the north - the toronto-ottawa corridor - there has been heavy snowfall and motorists have been warned to stay off the roads.
in some areas snowplows have been ordered off the roads to wait out the snowstorm. hbg

only three weeks to spring you say ?
ha, i say !
it's been pretty cold the last ten days with overnight lows of minus 15 to 20 C .
forecast calls for another week of cold temperatures - but it is sunny, that helps . hbg
