brrrr...sounds chilly and here I am sweltering in the heat, tossing up if I can be bothered going for a swim or not when I get home.
eastern lake ontario : it's started to snow ; looks just beautiful right now , a pristine white .
snow plow hasn't come through yet ; might do a bit of shovelling before going to bed . hbg
It staarted out as snow at 6 am when I got up. By 11 am it was pure sleet. The last half-mile from work to home was pretty amusing. Going sideways.
Tonight, the lights keep flickering. Some trees will be brought down by the ice. Where they fall...
I booked tomorrow off for something that seemed like it would be fun.
Getting there through this storm won't be fun, so I'll stay home with the pack.
Nearly time to go out and take my turn at shovelling. Setanta's already done a couple of rounds.
It doesn't seem to be as bad here as predicted. Maybe we will get more snow later today.
Stormy and rainy in the South of Germany. Not very christmassy...
Snow's on the ground - slush is on the street - snow plow left a clump of snow pllllllloppppppppp in front of the driveway.
Send Setanta out to clear it away....(he can thank me whenever he gets the urge....this may be a long wait)
ehBeth, like you I arranged for the day off today, not to do anything fun but because there's a lot of stuff I can't get done on a Satrurday or after normal business hours. It's slushy and nasty outside and now I don't feel like doing any of it. Maybe after I've had a decent breakfast . . .
There was some snow overnight but it seems to turning into sleet -- rain and snow mixed -- now. The forecast is for temps to be slightly above feezing during the day the next few days, which is a relief after the deep-freeze we've had all week. So maybe it won't be all that bad. Anyhow, have good day, everybody.
eastern lake ontario : woke up to about 40 cm (a foot-and-a-half) of snow . spent the better part of the morning to shovel the driveway .
had to drive mrs h downtown , when we came back the snowplow had plugged up the driveway entrance with about two feet of snow ! thanks a bunch !
"lake effect snow" being promised tor tonight .
that's just great . hbg
We got lucky in Beantown. The snow all turned to rain and temps hit above 40 degrees F. So virtually all the snow that was still left on the ground is now gone, except for dirty clumps in some gutters where the snowplows had packed it in after the last storm. Misty, foggy right now, more like very early Spring than early Winter. That's fine with me. Keep the snow on the ski slopes, I say. Next couple of days promise above average temperatures and not much precipitation. I'm dreaming of a green Christmas. But I'll be in Montreal for Christmas, so who knows what it'll be like up there.
It was brass knackers walking home from the pub tonight but I have my overbanket and my underbanket switched on full bore so not to worry.
What's with the west coast stuff Bernie and have you not bottled up for the movie yet?

...MONTREAL WEATHER FORECAST... they had plenty of snow yesterday - about 2 feet , but the montrealer seem to know how to handle it (step on the gas and lean on the horn !). enjoy your trip ! hbg
Thank you, hbg, for the forecast. I'll dress appropriately.
It's been snowing now since yesterday evening. It was quite tricky to drive home in the middle of the night...
The weather forecast for next week is for warmer temperatures so that will all be a big mess.
It's taken me three days to acclimatise from hot India to cold NW England, but it's not snowing here yet, not this week. It's below zero, though.
We had snow here unseasonably early, about a month ago.
Had some snow since Friday night - which melts down now in the sun - which temperatures just above zero. Same forecast as Urs' for the week.
Below zero! Harumpf. It's -19 C where I am. Brrrrr!
