Tico, you must be in Kansas, then. We got the snow instead. I measured 12" of snow in my yard, but the official total was 10". I'm just holding on til Springtime comes.

We had a nice amount of snow today. Just enough to have to shovel, not enough to be annoyed.

We had freezing drizzle and snow on Thursday. Our neighbourhood lost power a couple of times. I was glad I was within reach of the candles and matches the first time and could get myself sorted out fairly rapidly - and lots of batteries for the transistor (based on my summer blackout lesson).

We had beautiful weather today, in the 80's, sunny and mild!

Sorry, I don't miss snow and ice and cold, at all!

Thank you kindly. It wouldn't be the first time parcels were sent to me from America...my father's maiden aunt used to look after the children of an American family in New York, and during the 1950s while there was still food and clothing rationing here after WWII we used to get parcels from her, secondhand children's clothes and such. Such unusual clothes, we had nothing like them here. I remember a checked (plaid?) jerkin I used to wear, maybe you would call it a windcheater. It had a big brass zipper- uncommon here at that time.

windbreaker. One of those anomalies of American is that you can wear a windbreaker but we would prefer if you did not break wind.

Used only to be driven in "native" meditarranean weather, huh? Laughing

Weather is the same here, btw, and my car slept very well and warm in the garage (plus, it has got a "German-weather-related" 'quick-heat' system  ).

Oh yes, Walter. The little Alfa does not like winter! But I have heated seats! I should have parked it in the public garage last night...

the arctic high is moving in the direction of eastern ontario. today a high of minus 8 C with a bit of sunshine. we bundled up and went for a walk on the lakefront, very bracing and enjoyable - the ducks are still on the lake, seem to be having a good time. by end of the week the high is expected to be around minus15-20 c with a low of about minus 25 c. thunder bay (lake superior) shows a high of minus 24 and a low of minus 32 C - and it's moving our way. time to plug the car in overnight ! hbg

the arctic high has arrived. it's 9 pm and minus 15 C (windchill minus 22 C). forecast low for tomorrow morning minus 25 C (windchill minus 36 C) and a promise that it will continue for about another ten days like this ! we did have sunshine today, that makes it bearable. better plug in the car before going to bed. hbg
