I find it hilarious that you lefties have been unable in this thread to come up with one, single negative fact about the president.....to resort to factless insults.

FACT: Bush fell the first year in office, coming up with an incredible story about choking on a pretzel, leaving his seat and smashing his face against a hard object while trying to dislodge it. Nobody else was present at the time.

FACT: Bush fell again his first year in office, this time coming up with some vague explanation.

FACT: Mysterious, unspecified falls in the home are part of a pattern of alcohol use. This is known to the medical field.

Indeed, patients admitted to emergency services for other reasons often prove to have alcohol problems (e.g., ill-defined episodes of malaise, falls at home, or accidents at work).

Omg, that proves it! Rolling Eyes Are you really this lacking in....well intelligence? Because if you aren't, you know that you have at most argued plausibility, but not come near proving anything.

My wife fell off her bicycle once. I always thought that was a bit suspicious. I should have realized that this was an indication that she was drinking. I'm gonna have to watch her much more closely now.

The problem is not that George is drinking. It is he is not drinking enough to keep him in a perpetual stupor and in the corner out of the way.

The problem (the real one) is that the moan and groan liberals want to paint a bleak picture and will slander anyone they wish to along the way.

Ok, now I can see the point of this thread. You may have something there AU. That could be an interesting thread in and of itself.

Should GWB drink more and let someone else make the decisions? Hmmm, interesting.

Actually, Steve, it isn't so much the falling off the bike. Mountain biking especially is an athletic activity, and I would no more hold a fall against someone doing it than I would a fall playing basketball or any other sport.

It's these facial bruises he gets from accidents, at home, when no one else is around that I am concerned with. Especially since he has no need to climb up on ladders or do home repairs in awkward positions.

How many people do you see with facial bruises from accidents in the home? Especially if ladders or awkward positions are not involved?

When you throw in the fact that after that first year, he ended up taking an enormous amount of trips to the comfort and support of his Crawford home, and it becomes hard not to put two and two together.

Yes, in the same sense that we are merely talking "plausibility" when we see a woman who, after taking her boyfriend back after the restraining order expires, walks into work with a black eye twice in six months.

All the Bush-bashers calling for impeachment or his resignation must be forgetting who's VP.

'Twould serve them right Smile

the problem is that the right can dish it out but can't take it. There's a word for that that has a double meaning one of which is a nickname for a cat.

Not so. It seems to me that in her case it is more likely that her black eyes are due to a beating at her roommate's hands, than that the mere fact of stumbling a few times indicates drunkeness on the part of the president.

What an incompetent, klutzy goober I must be. Sad

I have fallen many, many times during my 30's and now 40's and none of those falls were alcohol related or drug related. I have fallen going up stairs, I have fallen going down stairs. I have fallen walking on flat ground. I have split open my eyebrow, I have turned around quickly and banged my face on a wall or door or cabinet given me a good knot on the forehead or a good bruise on my cheek. Once, while getting out of bed in the morning, my foot and leg inadvertently slipped between the bed frame and the box springs and I fell, leaving me bruised and swollen from about 6 inches above my ankle down to my toes. The only thing that prevented a break was the fact that I grabbed the sheets and mattress on my way down, slowing the fall, instead of the fast plop that it could have been.

I have always been under the impression that mishaps can happen to anyone. I really am not more uncoordinated than your average Joe, or so I thought. I have had ten years of dance lessons (tap, ballet and jazz), kept myself as physically fit as I could, even playing co-ed softball for years, well into my late 30's. I rode my bicycle religiously up until a year ago when it was stolen. Maybe I am just a klutz. Maybe I am just unlucky. Maybe I'm just human.

I'll take klutz for 1000 Alex... Razz
