Bootsie has been lifted 3 times by me yesterday and at least once by littlek today. the poor dog did not wiggle much, rather stared in shock and awe, but i believe she is getting used to it, hopefully she will start resisting (thus wiggling) soon.
lessee, my gym partner bailed out, so there goes my motivation. but only had a slim fast and dry raisins as of now, eying some workout videos. howz about Buns of Steel? yes, i think that's what i'll do.

Diane--

Do not feel isolated. I'm 62. Not only are metabolisms more leisurely, we have developed gastronomics to a high level of skill, both cooking and consumption.

I've done my stretching exercises for the day and am about to strap on weights and fling my arms and legs about with gingerly abandon.

Forward!

I am suspicious of anything green. Potatoes and meat is what I consider food. Tomatoes are edible, they are red. And radishes, the red ones. But salad? Eeeeeeeeeeek!!!

No green beans? No broccoli? No artichokes? No Caesar salad? No herbs?

How truly sad. Sad

I lifted bootsie twice! She's just not sure why I'm sober while lifting her.

What a brilliant idea Gautam - a virtual diet! count me in - I need to lose at least 7 old fashioned imperial pounds - what's that in new money?

I belong to a Gym and used to be a fanatic but I have seriously lost my way. I try to go to a step class once a week, a toning class once a week and a general gym ie bike, treadmill, efx etc once a week but I have got too heavy to drag myself down to the gym - its just round the corner from where i work and I have to go in my lunch hour - off peak member. How right they are I'm right OFF PEAK! Give me some motivation guys but be gentle with the truth.

Been good so far. Did the 'Buns of Steel Video' (see?) and drank lots of water and eaten very little, only a slim fast shake and a lavash bread (one of those roll ups) with tomatoes and carrots. will have a sensible dinner involving steamed broccoli (grrrrrrr) and perhaps some chicken for this thread has reminded of the existence of broccoli in my fridge.
Fiona, welcome on board! It does wonders to one's psyche! (or so i hope).
BTW, who wins the mythical prize? The one who loses most weight, one who sticks to his/her plan, how do we measure success here?

I have lost five pounds (2.2Kg) in two weeks eating a low carb diet and working out regularly. I drink lots of water and even allow myself a little spirits - vodka is my drink of choice. Vodka has no carbs.

on the other hand, carbs are great to eat if you want to exercise a lot, they break down the acid that causes the soreness of the muscles. depends on the preferred lifestyle i guess, i can't give up carbs, what would my life be without potatoes? (that is carbs, right?)

There's no way in hell I could give up carbs...no reason to, also. And yes, taters are carbs.
