Right on, Noddy!

Hooray Nodday!

~~~~~
We're spending 4.5 days at the hamburgers. It'll take gawd-knows-how-long to recover the calorie damage.
Good job, Noddy. This is one of the toughest holidays to stay strong for. It's all about the eating!
I made it to 95 pounds down at weigh-in last week Very Happy then no meeting this past week because of T'giving. Hopefully, I can show a bit of a loss on Wednesday... 100 here I come!!!
Mac--
A hundred pound loss would be possible by the New Year.
I'm finding that a very useful holiday rule is that if the food on my fork doesn't taste absolutely delicious, then I have no need to eat it.
The trick is to start off with slivers and tads and then stop.
My faithful dog is always willing to finish off last bites. She's very useful.
Way to go, Noddy and mac.
I just returned from a five-day food fest with Mr B's grandparents. Those Iowans know how to EAT.
I'll check the damages tomorrow -- I don't think I'm going to like what I see.
Welcome back JPB!
Noddy and mac, wow. 95 lbs?! That's really amazing, mac. And a weight of 125 seems to be nearing TOO thin, even, Noddy. (I don't remember from pictures how tall you actually are -- it might only be in my mind's eye that you're a towering figure.)
Thanks, soz.
The damage wasn't as bad as I'd feared. There's still a 7 in the middle but we need to do some serious work on the one's place.
Up 0.5 from last Tuesday morning, looking to drop a few before next weekend.
That's great, JPB - only half a pound. Half a pound is a glass of water!
Soz--
Not to worry. Anorexia is not one of my hobbies.
I'm 5'3" and the "healthy" range for that height is anyplace between 104 and 141 pounds.
I have small bones--very small bones. When I buy a new watchband, I measure 5/8 of an inch up and poke a new hole in the band.
My bones should not carry extra weight. Also, while my cancers haven't been estrogen related, the fewer fat cells I have oozing hormones into my blood stream, the better.
I'm also apple shaped. I don't aspire to an hourglass figure, but I'd like to get my waist below 35".
I figure that my personal ideal weight is between 112 and 115. In the days of my youth, I looked good at 104 pounds, but the days of my youth have passed.
This seems like a good, factual site:
http://www.caloriesperhour.com/tutorial_ideal.html
Also, I figure than anyone over 65 should be of a size to be carried away from the Disaster Scene by one or two rescue workers rather than waiting for a small tow truck or a team of oxen.
Right now I'd need at least four cub scouts and they might drop the stretcher.
Did you look upon the wine when 'twas red? Alcohol lingers.
Back to work tomorrow.
I did not run once this past week.
I ate like wild man (two turkey dinners on T-Day).
Clive and I only put in a two sessions at the gym.
The day of reckoning is at hand.
No alcohol last week at all with the exception of a glass of wine (yep, red) on Thursday. That's certainly why there was only a 0.5 lb gain. I'm back to last Tuesday's baseline, looking to do well this week until Friday night's gathering with the gang. Then, I'll have a full week before joining Mr B in New Orleans on the 8th. He's going down later this week for another round of Katrina relief, we'll return together on the 11th. I do a much better job of meal planning when I'm cooking for four. The girls would rather 'scrounge' than have sit down meals. I'm going to make up a couple large batches of soup to give us some quick and easy scroungables.
JPB--
I find with scrounging that I can set my own timetable. I find portion control is easier if I have a meal every four or five hours.
Help.
Through November, I lost eight pounds. I now weigh 122--first thing in the morning with an empty bladder and a flimsy nightgown.
For the last ten days or so I've been on a plateau--not surprising.
Last night I was starving, starving, starving. I ate at least 600 extra calories.
This morning I woke up hungry. I had my breakfast--delicious, thank you. Now I'm starving, starving, starving again.
Please lend me support, so it is my fat that feeds the fire rather than holiday goodies.
Help!
How much water do you drink, Noddy? On hungry days, I drink a lot of extra water (32-64 ounces over my usual minimum of 64).
Mac--
I manage 64 oz. of fluid, but more than that makes me queasy.
I've had 200 calories of holiday pastry and 50 calories--chewing each bite--of chunks of radish, pepper and carrot. I also did five extra minutes on the exercycle.
Some days are just easier than others.
Winter's rough. Some atavistic part of me wants to layer on some fat.
Clive and I went to the gym this morning and I got a little too enthusiastic
with the leg presses. Now my lower back is a bit sore. What a maroon.
I've been munching and sipping all afternoon as I put up lights on the porch
and populated the mantlepiece with shepherds, magi, and their animal
friends. Fa-la-la-la-la!
Pax et lux!
Finished my "extra" calories with about 400 worth of bagel and cream cheese and 150 worth of peanut brittle.
Then, amazingly, I was fed up and didn't yearn for more, more, more.
Hooray! At last I have gone beneath the 12 stone hurdle; that's 167 lbs and falling. Had 1000 calories for lunch so drinking water this evening! Only a week to my birthday so at least I won't be over 12 stone at 60, quelle horreur that would be. Unless I have lunch again sometime soon.
Noddy, 122 lbs sounds slender enough for anyone unless you are 6 years old! Can't remember ever being that small. Enjoy Christmas!
