@roger,
Yeah, that was the cut meant to shortened for the purpose of commercial airplay What a travesty! Makes no sense to that on CD.

Still ranks as one of the best rock instrumentals of all time!

Sunday the Fourth. The acknowledgment is the full extent of my celebration.
I always get up early on Sunday to start breakfast. It takes a bit of time to get the bacon or sausage just the way I want it. By the time the wife gets up I'm ready to finish putting it together. Eggs, biscuits.Nothing fancy. Coffee.

@edgarblythe,
we had supper a a really good Thai restaurant lat night and everyone had gone away with little boxes of half their meals. I was up at 6 AM and ate my left-over SHRIMP Pad Thai with mango-vinagred sprouts as a side dish. Mrs F's Salmon rangoon smells great in th fridge. We originally got a gang to go to PF Changs in Lancaster but they had lines made up of folks with unresolved CABIN FEVER (all of whom got their shots)
SO we went to the gretest Thai retaurant from Baltimore to Trenton (Including Philly)
Its called Sukho Thai . whoda figgered it in the middle of the Amish City like Lancaster.

We went to Barnes and Noble before dinner and I think among our group of 12 we bought ALL their art mags(High end ones like High Fructose, Plein Aire, Juxtapose etc)

We had over 250 bucks ofChristmas gift cards we were unable to spend because of covid, so we just went on a spree and met up with our frinds who had similar piles of gift cards.
e were given instructions how to access their web portal to use gift cards (it just involved using cell phones)

Thats it , I got nothin else, except taht it was like a fuckin war zone on the way home through the farm and woods. Gazillions of country folks musta gone out to buy fireworks and had something against setting em off on Sunday so Sat night was all lit up like an alien invasion

@farmerman,
My next door neighbor is a Japan native. We discuss food sometimes while fence gossiping. I had to tell her yesterday that I don't have enough knowledge of oriental food to eat it intelligently. I just pick out what looks good. She's my age. She has lived here more years than Japan, but she is not a US citizen. I used to think if she married a citizen she automatically was a citizen. I guess not.

Rocky has always held up well when fireworks start. Stands up and barks then heads for the door as though to confront the source. But this year, last night, some were set off in the cul de sac behind the house. That's considerably different than what he's used to. These unsettled him. Unfortunately, most people save the most for the actual Fourth. I hope they don't have the money to buy very much.

When I was small, living in Fresno (Calwa), the parents would give my siblings and I bags of fireworks. Mostly firecrackers and a few sparklers. But there were always some cherry bombs included. We would be turned loose with them as the grownups went back in the house. None of us was injured, but the potential was great. It was a mistake I never repeated with my kids.

@edgarblythe,
When I was a kid the age to buy fireworks was 14. My birthday is in December and we light fireworks on Bonfire Night, 5th November.

Just before my 14th birthday the age shot up to 16, and then just before my 16th birthday it went up to 18.

There are shops here that sell fireworks all year round.

We used to show up for the public fireworks, but there have gotten to be too many people, too few observation points. I enjoy seeing it, but not enough for that.

While preparing my typical apple-orange-beet-carrot juice just now I had a notion to juice the entire orange, not just the inner part. Did so. It changes the juice so it is not as good tasting. Curious, I googled juicing the whole thing. I got this:
According to the United States Department of Agriculture, the orange is the most consumed fresh fruit in the United States. However, many people do not take advantage of all its health benefits since the fruit is typically peeled before it is juiced or eaten. The peel is full of healthy minerals such as potassium and magnesium and vitamins B6, B2 and C. For maximum benefits, juice the entire fruit, including the skin.

@edgarblythe,
Don't care how many A, B, C, K's etc it has - if it doesn't taste good, not eating it. I grew kale for several years and tried it many ways - just hate the **** out of it and gave it away to friends, neighbours and library people. Finally stopped growing the crap.

Yeah, I'm considering just doing a small portion of peel next time. Adjust it until it seems right.

@edgarblythe,
My British dad used to eat the orange with the peel on and tried to get us little ones to do it but it was too bitter - like biting into a piece of raw ginger. No thanks!

@Mame,
I had some sort of ginger limeade with my father's day dinner. The crap I saw on the tables walking in made me wish we had gone to Burger King. I ordered the grass fed beef hamburger. The others ordered stuff they seemed to not enjoy.

@edgarblythe,

Such a shame when a) you're expecting something and b) when you're paying for it. I hope you do reviews on the various websites.

I just saw online that pets should not be caused anxiety. Likely referring to fireworks. I'm sympathetic, but they are going to be stressed from time to time just like we humans are. It's life.
