If we can't vote by mail in November, how are we going to send out the Christmas Cards to our friends and relatives. Is this the new War on Christmas?? How will the children receive presents in "God Bless America Land" if Trump ruins Baby Jesus's Birthday??

@glitterbag,
We'll have to follow the yellow brick road...

....or was that the North Star?

...and really, what child would be wanting myrh or friggin frankincense?

Jesus Christ man, this Christmas will be strange. Maybe George Bailey will save us all and an angel will get its wings.

@Sturgis,
Im scared at how this president is quickening his pace to become a despot. Wait till he begins disbanding our Constitutional Rights under a "National Emergency"

What get me is the most powerful and for two hundreds years the most stable democracy in the world is being endanger by a low IQ New York conman.

Even given that he is being help to do so by Putin and the Fox network it is still amazing,

Before Trump I was under the happy impression that we was immune to such would be dictators taking power unlike such nations a Germany, Italy or Russia.

To add insult to the matter Trump is not nearly as bright as any of the men who had taken over their nations in the past.

@BillRM,
So stable you had a civil war.

I’d hate to see your definition of restless.

Your nation is a stable one, Izzy...and it had a Civil War.

Right?

And Civil War in capital letters is correct.

If you write it "civil war" you are expressing an oxymoron.

On the other hand, the oxymoron "Republican ethics" is written with one capital letter.

@BillRM,
With how Trump wields his lies and schmears out his credo of hate and fascism, I now have a much better understanding about how intelligent German folk were duped into following their own con man in the first half of the 20th century

He will plan to take a second term and then relinquish it to one of his asshole relatives in a Constitution-breaking rules of Primogeniture or Nepotism

@Frank Apisa,
Not in the last two hundred years.

BillRM was claiming a period of stability lasting 200 years which would include the Civil War.

Now if he’d said the last 150 years I wouldn’t have said anything.

Sorry about not not capitalising Civil War. I’m on an iPad and it’s a bit problematic.

Ahhh...true, that!

We are in a pile of **** here, Walter. I hope we make our way out of the pile without all the horror that went on in Germany back in the 1940's. Cannot tell you how sad I am to realize that doing so is not a sure thing.

Okay. Yeah, I had forgotten that Charles I lost his head in 1649. For some reason I thought that happened much later. We still had over a hundred years to go before even becoming a country.

The democracy was stable enough to fight — and win — a civil war, so maybe that's something.

I've mentioned Colin Woodard's American Nations a number of times. While the government has managed to remain stable, the country as a whole has never been a truly unified nation.

@Frank Apisa,
Not including WW2 and the Battle Of Britain, the last battle fought on British soil was the Battle of Culloden in 1746.
