@neptuneblue,
Jim Jordan or Matt Gaetz. We've finally met the bottom of the barrel.

@oralloy,
It's not a matter of Pence's loyalty - we all know what he does for Trump.

It will be a point of Trump will not see winning with Pence, and will try a more vivid, wildly inappropriate personality.

@neptuneblue,
You misunderstand. Mr. Trump's poll numbers are not dropping. That is what I mean when I say people are going to keep supporting him.

Mr. Trump is not going to see any need to change things up. He is going to win reelection with Mr. Pence as his VP.

Tennessee Newspaper Blasted For Printing Ad Claiming ‘Islam’ Is Going To Nuke Nashville

The Tennessean said it’s investigating how a full-page, anti-Muslim ad was published

The Tennessean ― the state’s most widely circulated daily newspaper ― is facing intense scrutiny after publishing an anti-Muslim ad in its Sunday print edition that claimed “Islam” planned to detonate a nuclear bomb in Nashville.

The full-page ad, paid for by what appears to be a Christian doomsday cult, featured a banner at the top that included images of President Donald Trump, Pope Francis and American flags engulfed in flames.

The Ministry of Future For America falsely asserted in its ad that the religion of Islam is going to blow up Nashville on July 18. The group claimed to know this based on “Bible prophecy” and called Trump the “final president of the USA.”

This morning, the Nashville @Tennessean — the largest newspaper in the state — published a full-page ad from a far-right client warning “Islam is going to detonate a nuclear device in Nashville, Tennessee.” It’s accompanied by photos of Donald Trump and Pope Francis. pic.twitter.com/9vvUbteSIh

The Tennessean said it’s launching an investigation into how the ad, which the paper said clearly violates its standards, came to be published.

Michael A. Anastasi, vice president and editor of The Tennessean, told the newspaper that what happened was a “breakdown in the normal processes,” adding that the news and sales departments operate independently.

“The ad is horrific and is utterly indefensible in all circumstances. It is wrong, period, and should have never been published,” Anastasi said. “It has hurt members of our community and our own employees and that saddens me beyond belief. It is inconsistent with everything The Tennessean as an institution stands and has stood for.”

Ads that do not meet the paper’s standards are routinely rejected for publication, The Tennessean reported. The newspaper’s sales team on Sunday ordered the ad to be pulled from future editions.

Twitters users slammed The Tennessean for printing the Islamophobic ad.

“We’re appalled that [The Tennessean] allowed a full-page ad stoking fear and hate against Muslim communities to run in today’s paper,” the Tennessee Immigrant & Refugee Rights Coalition tweeted. “This rhetoric is dangerous and an affront to the paper’s stated commitment to civil discourse.”

“I feel really bad for the [The Tennessean] reporters working their asses off through a pandemic and furloughs only to see their work printed next to this garbage,” a reporter for News 4 Nashville said. “They deserve better.”

Some of the newspaper’s customers said they were canceling their subscriptions in response to the ad.

“Been a subscriber since 2010,” one Twitter user wrote. “I’m not going to support a news organization that will run an advertisement like this one.”

@oralloy,
You know you're in trouble when even your own network says you're going to lose.

@neptuneblue,
Might depend on what you mean by 'dump'. I think he's as much elected as Trump, himself, and would have to be impeached.

@roger,
Pence's wife won't let him be President. It would mean having meetings alone with Angela Merkel of Germany, Park Geun-Hye of South Korea, or even Jacinda Arden of New Zealand.

If he can't eat alone with a woman, he certainly can't summit with them.

I know that I've won when progressives suddenly start saying I watch Fox News.

Not that there's anything wrong with watching Fox News mind you.

I think she means that Mr. Trump would pick a different VP candidate for his second term.

@oralloy,
Well, I didn't say YOU watch Fox, now did I. Trump watches Fox, those are the numbers he sees, that are getting worse by each passing day. Terrible rally attendance and 2 and a half hour ramblings of nothingness are sure to turn just enough people to say, nah, that dude is whacked.

@neptuneblue,
OK I see what you mean. But I do not agree that his poll numbers are getting worse.

I think the same voters who supported Mr. Trump in 2016 are going to support him in 2020.

@oralloy,
They may still support him but they won't vote for him again. They'll sit this election out. Then when Biden wins, chaos will ensue.

@neptuneblue,
That is incorrect. We will be going to the polls and voting to reelect Mr. Trump.

I say "we" because I am one of the people who voted for Mr. Trump and will be doing so again.

@neptuneblue,
It takes more than the Second Amendment to protect your rights.

It also takes government officials who will respect the Second Amendment and not intentionally violate it.

Joe Biden will intentionally violate your Second Amendment rights.

Donald Trump has a proven record of upholding the Second Amendment.

@oralloy,
Trump also has a record of eating the most McDonald's cheeseburgers for a sitting President. Somehow, the Supreme Court overlooked that fact when they decided not to hear any gun issues this term.

As for Joe Biden, why is it the bait and switch conversation comes into play? If Trump can't stand up on his own merits and YOU have to drag that into the conversation, you've already lost.
